Question, to my understanding it was the prophet pbuh who forbade tattooing. Was this due to the fact that in that time tattooing was mainly used for things like protection from the evil eye and marking yourself as aligned with a particular tribe? If so, was it a prohibition of tattoos in general or that which falls into the category of other haram things like that mentioned above or others like tattoo in images of living creatures or other religious symbolism on your body?
Tattoing is forbidden not because the prophet SAW said so, its because its generally viewed that The human body is beatiful be itself and you should not change the way it looks so its a sin to get a tattoo, but if you get a tattoo and you repent its okay.
Yeah pen tattoo or henna mehendi are permissible because we can remove it and can perform wudu easily but with permanent tattoo you cannot perform wudu it's like nail polish which on hand which is difficult to remove
