Axe Review: Unexpectedly Good!

- This fire axe was originally designed for punching ventilation holes in structures. However, after seeing how good the design was…i asked Fire Maul Tools if they agreed, that they had a tool that could also do really well at splitting wood. It’s heavy. It kicks ass. And honestly, they aren’t going to need to modify it much more. They just ground down the stoppers into being more like angled wedges. And it did great. #reviews

Official Review: Power: 9.2 Durability: 9.4 Feel: 10 Cost: 8 (small business)
Final: 9.15 (and they aren’t even finished with it yet) I can’t wait. I would be proud for one of my best axes to finally be an american made one!
This axe hits harder than my grandma's wooden spoon during childhood
😮💨😂😂😂
@@ThorenBradley great just when you sold me on buying the Fiskar Maul..you now say this is good. You make it look easy. After 3 or 4 attempts if the log hasn't split I get my grenade splitter out.
... - my father's fist during childhood....
That's OK though I wouldn't be the weapon I am today without those beatings.
God damn, this thing destroyed those wood knots
He has a name you know
The axe was okay too
Well that's a nice discovery, would love to see a review of the finished product!
I hope they start selling them when the prototype is done!
@@ThorenBradley me too!
@@ThorenBradleyplease make a review when it drops! I just got interested in log splitting and I would love for this to be my first axe.
this axe not only performs well but also it looks fricking cool. Wish the final product keeps the black paint like their other axes. Johnny would split the door in half by just one hit if he had this thing😂
Good things take time. Production version is coming!
Damn the manufacturer commented
Was punching vent holes with my mauler today. Great product.
Crazy how good this worked as a splitting maul when it's designed to be a breaching tool. As a firefighter who has used this maul, it makes an excellent entry tool but is on the heavier side to carry with a set of irons. Love to see it applied in spilting too
Nice and MADE IN USA hopefully they finalize and put in production.
It seems very effective, and I also really like the protector it has for the handle.
Good video.
I like it too bro! And thank you
@@ThorenBradley 🪓 😀👍🏻
Where i can buy one?😮
@@ThorenBradley where i can buy it?
Man's out here cutting wood with Stormbreaker. 😂
That vein in your right arm! Gets me every time! Nurses😅 Seriously need to get my husband an axe now…and a wood burning stove.
Hey Theron
Battista from across your northern boarder Canada..
Where does a fella get himself one of those bad ass fire axes??
To have in his arsenal..
Cheers
Keep up the kick ass reviews
I love an honest review!
Wow, that was an amazing tool
My favourite words. “Let’s go again.” 😍😀
Dang!
Wood handles rock.
Agreed!
the gun thats my name for u
Thanks Thoren, love your content.
Appreciate you!
Parece muy efectiva, y además me gusta mucho el protector que lleva para el mango.
Buen vídeo.
If they sell them I’d buy one if the price was reasonable
Beautiful man
Hey brother what brand suspenders are those looking to grab a new pair!
Looking forward to seeing more of this axe.
Thor I am a firefighter based out of Northern Florida. How can I get that exact setup that you are using in this video? Stay safe brother!
Just go email Fire Maul Tools bro!
Excellent
This needs to be sold
I want one already.
This tool is great. I’ve owned one for years
Where do you get your suspenders from
I wanna see a forge master make him a custom axe head, would be cool to see some crazy forged Damascus axe head or something
Thats impressive
Hows this thing compair to th helko vario that you did a video on? Thanks in advanced
I also would like to see hot the finished product performs. Even of they stick to this prototype. I would love to have a couple (one for me and a couple for other friends who may not be able to afford one).
Great splitter. Bein on a farm we either make due or we find scrap and build our own. Welded a head to a piece of steel 1420. Been using it for years. Still prefer my wood handle
What are your thoughts on the shape of the edge? Look quite different from the axes I have seen
Have you tested a double bladed axe like one side for splitting then the other side for chopping? I happen to own one.
Super!!!👍👍👍👍
I want to try this axe so bad. I almost bought it the other day.
Is there an official list somewhere on this channel that ranks axes not just on performance, but also suitability for different levels (begginer) and power input required ?
Ok but how would it have performed in its original form?
How often do you sharpen an axe?
The way he spat before starting using his tool and ripping everything in the front. 😮
I'm curious. i have been recommended your videos and shorts by the youtube algorithm, and im now curious. Is cutting wood your actual job or is it just a hobby? i always thought cutting and splitting wood was done by machines so the work does not require the worker to be as fit as you are. is there still a business for "manual" wood cutting and splitting?
This dude is the final boss of final bosses.
great review!
Those swings sound like gun shots, I swear.
I’m buying the second they sell
Bro how long is that handle? 34"?
Beautiful
🦁 Leo man.....
Yum
The missing bit of steel from the maul’s head likely helps in the sense of once the tip goes in the wood it allows for momentum to be transferred to the wider part ensuring it doesn’t get stuck, and forces a double impact on the log. You can slowmo it and check but I’m pretty sure
That’s actually cut out on purpose to marry with a halligan tool. The forks slide into that notch.
I just love you.
Where can buy one
Where i can buy one??😮
Crazy drakes twin haha
If I wanted one for my father, were would I be able to acquire one for him 😊 plz and thanks you 🙏
I really wanna get this maul fr. Any details?
Fire Maul Tools is the brand. The owner said he is for SURE going to put them into production. I will make a video as soon as I have one in my hands (a finished one)
I will be looking forward to seeing the finished product! I've been searching for a really good splitting maul. I've even contemplated forging out my own.
This dude has been chopping wood since he was 6 and he has never used a Swedish axe? Poor fellow...that's like being really interested in fine drinks but you've never bothered to drink champagne.
Man, his 2nd strike is within cm of the 1st 😳
I can’t believe it split the knot so easily
What is the actual weight???
This guy can come round my house and chop my logs. A guy sells me logs and 66% of them have knots.
What axe do you use bro? "Karate"
Still so beautiful and cool 😎 ❤😂
Sledge hammer with a chopping head
Who's the manufacturer?
Has there been another axe better than this one you ever used or is this axe the current champion?
how many axes does this guy have?
Yo could you review a tuathai axe 🪓
I don’t know shit about axes, but imma buy that mf based on what this man said.
I WANT U TO USE DANE AXE.
nah thoren is just too strong no log can beat him
What kind of haircut do you get and how do you ask for it
Ask for a low fade
@@joshuavalencia8363 what on top??
If you're interested to hear what an engineer would come up with about how much force that thing is hitting with... And then the the wedging action is going to be an ungodly figure because one of the most powerful mechanical advantages is a wedge.... but if the wedge is traveling at 80 mph and it's got so many different angles to it like that.... it's going to be a big bunch of friction issues along with decelerations...
I'd like to see an engineer try to explain to us.... in terms ... that we could understand..... just exactly why that thing is so good.
Here's my..... The guy wood splitting is in top physical shape.... And he is swinging that splitting maul at high speed.... And like you said that thing is heavy... And he hit those rounds in precisely the right spot.... These are reasons why it works so good....
It would be interesting to see some accurate tests run.... Don't ask me how to do all that.... That splitting Maul is amazing.... Does not look like it would get stuck... As easy as the others do.
I'll bet his favorite tool is a hydraulic log splitter..... I have a 34 ton champion from home Depot and it went through a 5 inch diameter knot... That's right it sheared right through it and looked like it was cut in two with a bandsaw. I heard not to do that too often because it's hard on the machine and it won't last if I keep doing that.. but it was one of those spruce rounds that had seven knots in it.
Брат,поможешь мне наколоть один кузов дров?
Dude, that's your Thors hammer buddy. Impressive
If these are put into production please let us know. I’m 💯 gettin one
The DAY i get a real one. I am announcing on youtube
