Premature stoppage. Brewer NEVER hit the canvas. He took some hellacious shots at the end, but he was still on his feet. Yeah, I prefer to err on the side of caution, but the ref brought this one to an end a few seconds too soon. Why not another standing 8 count? Likewise, Echols hit the canvas three times and was able to weather the storm. However, even with no 3-knockdown rule, I wouldn't have blamed the ref for stopping it after the third knockdown.

In boxing guys can die from head trauma or body trauma & that's part of the game cause it's a brutal sport. Letting a guy go down 3times in a single round is very dangerous & that is why they came up with a 3KD rule & it's over. The commentators, crowd, fighter were all disgusted by such a bad judgment call after he aloud one fighter to get bashed to the point he couldn't stand many times for an entire round. Dude didn't go down & walked away fine after the stoppage.....wow! "No rematch needed" damn that's some serious lack of confidence & cowardice!!! Horrible call considering this is the hurt business
Absolutely. Joppy and Holmes definitely wouldn't have lasted with him. Harry Simon could have been a good fight but I personally would see Echols taking it.
Im gonna say good stoppage..echols was a huge puncher..Brewer was basically out on his feet. fight would of lasted another 10secs.ended w uneeded head punishment..us as fight fans love the brutality of this sport but to take those shots are unforgiving.. GOOD STOPPAGE REF!

That referee shouldn’t have worked another fight ever. And it wasn’t just the early stoppage he made so many mistakes and the fight lasted 3 fucking rounds it was fucking embarrassing and a championship fight to boot. He was ready to end the fight in the first round when Echols went down for the 3rd time and it would’ve been justified. But because it was the end of the round and he heard the time keeper doing the standing eight then he decided to let it go. He’s jumping in to break the fighters up throwing one of them to the ground and then he stops the fight without Brewer even going down. Referees don’t do interviews anymore because how fucking stupid this dude sounds after the fight.
