If they did they would know they're getting overcharged by a lot. The jewelry business prays off of people's ignorance. So it's really the consumer who has to educate themselves before buying.
Plus, a lot of these artists focus on what's called bussdown watches. These are modified watches which the jewelers put after market diamonds on. Doing this on a high end watch or timepiece drives down the price of that piece by A LOT!!!
For instance, some people want the Skeleton AP bussdown. That timepiece itself lost a lot, and the value of it keeps rising. But once they put the after-market diamonds on them they won't be able to fetch a premium for them if and when they attempt to sell it.
@@Kcseales absolutely! I am more familiar with watches. Putting after market diamonds on watches and not the original factory ones is one of the biggest no no’s as a watch collector. Once you mess with a watch that value plummets immediately and you can’t even take it back to the original manufacturer.
As a black man it disappoints me to watch my brothers throw away money not realizing they are being swindled heavy. Its an unfortunate circumstance of being able to afford but not understanding the important details. A bussdown only means something when it directly comes from the manufacturer.
