Another Rammstein video, with some English subs so I can share the love with all the non-German speakers :)
This song is based off of real life events- the case of Armin Meiwes, who found a young man that allowed him to kill and eat him. Before he was killed, Armin cut off the young man's penis, and they ate it together. Mein Teil is a direct pun on this, as it means "my part" or "part of me", but it can also mean "My penis".

It was Consensual Cannibalism Berne Brandes wanted to be killed and eaten. Armin Meiwes was originally only given a light sentence considering the fact that everything was done Consensually . There were a few other candidates who went to Amrin's house and left on there own free will. I believe Armin should be realesed at some point but they ended up changing the sentence to Natrul Life

@@Starkweather133 I think that the two definitely have different goals. But I sometimes feel that the line of demarcation between one type of headspace and another starts to thin the more involved the parties get.
Who can really say whether or not Jane Toppan started as an "angel of mercy" and developed a sex and suffering kink or maybe the blending was the other way around. It just shows how intricate the human psyche can be.

I kinda get the feeling that the inclusion of the crossdressing dominant seems to suggest that Bernd Brandis was topping from the bottom and got exactly what he wanted while the quasi-dominant Armin Meweiss got to eat him, but went to prison for life as a consequence. I'm not saying that either was worse than the other and it is clear that both were about six bratwurst shy of a full picnic basket (no pun intended). But it is clear that where the nature of their goals are concerned, the receiving partner got the best of the deal.

I think I know now why they release all their songs in German. So they can get away with pushing the envelope so to speak!! I was shocked about what it says but I still love Rammstein
Well they’re all born and raised in Germany, and even though their music is in German, it still appeals to lots of people! I’m not sure they’re getting away with all that much though- have you seen the video for Avenged Sevenfold, “a little piece of Heaven?”

It's been a few years since you wrote this, but actually yes -:]
Armin Meiwes did nothing beyond consent, and there always seems to be someone thinking that he was/is evil or some crap like that.
I have been involved in countless discussions on the matter since ~2009, and I feel it almost always ends up with some christians, puritanes, or "normal" people having the last word, depicting Meiwes as some kind of monster, and it makes me so sad and angry.
The story has just stuck with me, it has became a part of my moral and politics, like the final windmill to hunt down. -:]
TL;DR - Armin Meiwes didn't commit any crimes in my eyes.
