I bought a near mint 007 three years ago for 265 USD. I liked it so much, I bought another one about two years ago for 305USD. While I did have to send both of them back to Seiko repair in New Jersey, It was WORTH every penny.. I wear one almost every day (on NATOs - Goldfinger and SPECTRE). They go with everything I wear, from my blue jeans, to my blue suit.
Cool nato strap combinations! I also have a spectre nato colorway, I bought 3 of them. Haha. Yeah this movement is durable as they come. Both of these are running close to cosc. After regulating. 7s26C version.
I have all three SKX models in my Seiko dive watch collection. 007, 009 and the 013. I was lucky to find them in pristine condition a couple years ago. I will wear them once in a while but want to preserve them. I tend to wear the SRPE03 King Turtle as my everyday tool watch rather than the 007.
God - the SKX007 were so cheap back when I got mine (2007) - 160 bucks new in some places. Seiko and their new pricing have lost the plot for "tool" watches...
I wanted one for a long time right after they were discontinued. But as I've grown older in my watch collecting journey, I am not at all interested in having a watch with such outdated specs and an outdated movement. If I want an SKX007, I'll get a LIW Islander.

I love my 009J, if I knew they were gonna be discontinued back in 2019, I'd have bought and just rock this watch the rest of my life.
013 started my addiction. My true first love!
❤❤❤

Glad to know you got them all! The Seiko king turtle surely supersedes the skx. Not a bad option to have.

@@hellboy1976 man that sounds like an excellent deal in hindsight. Should’ve bought a few new ones and kept new. Haha
I have the SKX 009 and a 7002 -7000 I like the square markers better on the 7002😊
@@canadianwatchmonkey3992 i sold my 7002-700J but decided to keep the black dial for the same reason you have. Those square markers.
put that SKX on some Razor Wire
@@dmarcellus intriguing!

Islander is the better overall watch indeed. The skx007 is just a reminder of what seiko used to be (affordable and reliable)
While the Islander beats the SKX in specs, it's still a copy nonetheless. Hard to beat the OG.
009?
Same watch with a blue face and a Pepsi bezel.
100% female end links.
@@harrisonvanandel9435 gonna keep it. I think. Haha
