Oh how I miss the swamp! I was raised in the Great Dismal Swamp. In my childhood in the 60's I trapped muskrat, gigged frogs, hunt deer, hunt raccoons and shot hundreds of water moccasins. This was how it sounded at night after a rain. The only thing missing is the high-pitched whine of mosquitoes! Not much left of the swamp that I remember. The wetlands protection act came much too late to save thousands of acres in the Great Dismal Swamp. 😢

Same here lol. For me, this setting is missing the fowler's toad and we didn't have wood frogs like they do here, but still very close and I sought this video out to remind me of falling asleep as a child

I grew up in The Great Dismal Swamp on the border of VA/NC on Ballahack Road ... I was fortunate!

I remember camping in our pasture and this dude thought the bullfrog was a wildboar oh he was gonna protect me lol
