I mean I'd be happy if they just ran it back on normal but added in a few legends and other guys since they very rarely if ever sign any mid season so maybe they could start with a couple each instead
Wait I only now realized is the reason Johnny kept pushing Wolfgong as Undertaker because he’s Teddy Long and he needs people to go one on one with da Undertaker?
1. If you do wanna do a reset, the quality of the caw doesn’t really matter (until mania when you watch a match) so you just really need the render. 2. You can edit a caw’s class and their popularity but not their ring level or promo skill. 3.Batista shows up in gm mode even if you haven’t unlocked him. Idk if it’s a mistake or what but, big poppa pump is that way too.
When you go into your custom draft pool, you can set every wrestlers style, popularity, stamina, and contract status. You can NOT decide their secondary style though ring xp level up. Their contract price will be determined by the stats you provide them. If you want to make Hogan a 30 popularity local jobber Giant, the game will let you
I kinda liked the hard mode for this season Yeah there were some struggles but you were so close to each other during the whole season and still made good bits!
as someone who did my own attitude era gm mode in 2k23, it’s a ton of fun. and trust that 2k24 has just as many caws as that game had plus the inclusion of a ton of in game characters this year like sandman, funk, the headbangers, etc makes it even easier. something to keep in mind tho is that because they’re legends, even if you make them “active” instead of “contracted”, they’ll come up extremely expensive in the draft (usually over 400k) so you’ll have to adjust their popularity. and yes you can adjust that as well as the fighting style and whether they’re heel or face. same with caws!
Personally I think that the most fun option for a changeup in the rosters was what one of the boyz suggested and having it so each of you picks a number of wrestlers of your choice to go in. Having a mixup of wrestlers from all eras and promotions I think could lead to a lot of fun possibilities, as well as being more engaging on the women's roster side of things as the Attitude era for example didn't have a lot going on in that area.
the fact that all the mania's were empty arenas and all the NL fans have been watching GM mode from home, so it's like representing the fact that none of us are actually there to cheer the shows on, is oddly poetic.
Doing additude/late 90's is a solid idea but I also think giving everyone 15-20 wrestlers (from any time period) not in the game then throwing them into the pool is the way to go. Id love the mystery of not knowing what WCW, ECW, AEW, NJPW, and even DPW guys show up.
6:07 you could draw different eras and whoever picks a era has to draft those rosters, and if you wanna trade you can agree to something at trade day. Money etc
For some reason they put some of the persona cards into the myGM roster pool regardless of whether or not you’ve unlocked them. There are multiple versions of Undertaker and Batista available when you scout, for example.
The other Undertakers are Showcase mode unlocks or just bought from the in-game shop. You are correct though that you can use my faction persona cards for MyGM though. I have the awesome Masked Dirty Dom I use in my GM games.
I really like the idea of resetting with Attitude Era or just an assortment of CAWs in general. I'd be down for that. Something I think might be cool is to have a season where things like drafts, champions, cards you pick and use and even matches you book are randomised. Like have a roulette wheel WWE-style to determine one type of match for example. I like nL improvising and I think it's great when you "live and die" by the rando.
I would keep going with this series, you already spent lots of money on the ring and fireworks, etc. so you will have more money. Also would be cool if you guys could have co gms, like htail duel sprite Blake dino etc. I understand getting 8 people to time things would be hard.
I will once again point out that if you all want to continue this save, the bugged trophies will carry over. So, I'd recommend making a new save. With that in mind, I'm definitely in favor of an Attitude Era run. That would be sick! Also, definitely on the same page as you for the talent scout system. I don't mind the system as a whole, but there should still be a random selection, and the scouting is WAY too expensive.
It's expensive first year, but multiple seasons with better logistics making you more money, scouting isn't expensive it's really the low amount of scouts that's an issue. Minor inconvenience at that.
2:11:56 When Chester starts to climb the ladder, the breifcase moves over to be in line with him. Not sure if that's normal, never noticed it if it is.
Looking my forward to listening to all of this! I hope that next year you keep things default in terms of match unlocking (in 2k25). You wouldn’t be tasked with ‘booking hell in a cell matches’ for cards if they weren’t unlocked, a match type you wouldn’t unlock until late Season 2.
If you guys do decide to go with the Era specific GM, I'm sure myself and a lot of other community members will work on characters to fill the roster for you to import.
whenever you guys make your new draft pool. No matter what you decide to do I would recommend setting every wrestler to “active” instead of having certain wrestlers set to local or legend I’ve done multiple gm modes and I feel like it makes the draft pool a lot more interesting.
For CAW when you edit your draft pool you can switch columns to change their Role, Style and place of appearance (Draft, Local pool, Contracts to be scouted). I think you can change their popularity too and that the only variable you can't touch is their Rank/Level
Also since you're only watching one match per brand per season you just need a nice render so they don't look out of place on card screen and such (which can get silly if the renders are bad)
I love the idea of doing a next season based around the Attitude Era. Not to discount the active rosters of the game, but it can be plenty of fun to have legends/DLC characters who weren't in this season as the sole roster. Especially with the potential for stories the bois come up with
So if you are planning a 1999 type of roster. You can split it up with like 35 wwf caws, 35 wcw caws, and 15 ecw caws on top of the 30 or so available stars already in the game across the three companies. You won’t necessarily need to worry about models as you really only need the stats and the renders for MyGM. In reality you can make a bunch of blank CAWS and download a moveset and render for all of them. When you select your draft pool you can go in and select who is active and who is not. This same screen allows you to change popularity, alignment, style, and their active status (active, contract (legend), local). All active stars will have a chance to enter the draft pool. You can honestly add guys like debut Cena and Orton as local talent given their status in ‘99. You can also make legends from prior to 99 (or whatever year you chose) as contract status. This is a time consuming process and you may want to do it as a group bc there is a lot to edit and you can easily make a mistake or forget something. It’s up to you when it comes to custom GMs. Bischoff, Foley, and Heyman are already options, but you can also save a few slots of caws for ppl like Commissioner Michaels, Vince, Slaughter, Linda, or even JR. You would likely be stuck with Raw, SD, ECW, and WCW. Obviously it’s your choice, I’m just giving suggestions.
If you’re going to do an attitude era runbut are worried about the number of people you have access to on CC you can always bolster the roster with 80s and early 00s guys. Any of those guys who come up on CC probably worked indies during the 90s
For a potential Attitude Season mode, you can edit everything. Go into GM Mode, pick a new save slot, go to custom roster, make all the modern talent 'inactive', and all the talent you want 'active'. After that, you can edit each wrestler's popularity, class (fighter, bruiser etc), and whether or not they are a heel or a face. Then all you have to do is save the draft class and select it in the menu. I'm doing a 1999 one now and British Bulldog (in the Jeans) is the ECW champ.
I've been playing MyGM on normal and even I'm having a hard time like you guys have all season. 2K made it so much harder all round at least starting out so I'm assuming with what I know from last year with keepers and draft, the start will always be a hard time unless the local talent is prominent early on for saving funds through the season
It was, I believe, two episodes ago when Jawnny discovered that Wolfgong's popularity suffers from being the midcard champion… And of course we end the season with Wolfy defending this belt at Mania ;>
idea for your attitude era My GM: since you guys don't typically watch the matches you could use blank CAWs with renders of wrestlers and then in the custom draft pool adjust everyone's class, role, popularity, status, etc.
I'd love for next season to be on Normal mode. Hard mode was good for a season but IDK if I can watch another empty arena wrestlemania lol The different era idea sounds like a lot of fun too, hopefully you guys give it a shot
So I did a test. I made several superstars who were legends and on contracts available for the draft. They are level 25 and cost roughly 500k each. I then did another one where I lowered them to 1 popularity and the highest was asking for 210k. So unless you mod it I don't know if what you are thinking about doing next will work out.
For CAWs, you can change Popularity, fighting style (Giant, Cruiser, etc.) and face/heel. I tried an attitude era roster but one thing to watch out for is that the likes of Austin and Shamrock who are already in the game will be super expensive due to their rank if you add them to the list of permanent roster options instead of contracts. I'd recommend a couple of test drafts (or "rough draft drafts") to make sure you have a balance and can comfortably fill out a roster. Alternatively you could just keep the Contract wrestlers as contracts like they are in your current save or download a CAW for those ones too. Rank and promo levels are entirely random for CAWs (unless someone knows a way) which will also affect their price.
I love the idea of doing a CAW heavy time period or faves draft, though I will warn you guys that it doesn’t really allow you to control certain aspects when you do this. For example, promo skills are seemingly completely random for CAWs from save to save, as are superstar levels to an extent, a good chunk of them will be level 5, but much like Scarlett and Sanga, some will seemingly be massively overrated relative to who they are and be level 15. That said, I’m sure you guys would still make it entertaining and it’s not a huge deal.
You can change roles, popularity, and class, stamina is random. As for CAWS I don't understand it fully. I have used several and I even lowered their pop to under 20. They have different experience levels though. Some are level 5 but others at level 10. I don't fully understand why that is.
Definitely am all for a reset, but CAWs in GM Mode generally suck regardless of what way you set them up. Unfortunate, but like, their pop and whatnot is effed up IIRC. I'd just lower difficulty and go from there, so that way trophies aren't glitched/bugged this time around.
If anyone is seeing this I’m trying to do this on parsec with my friend but I can’t get his controller to connect so we can play together. Please help!!!!!
I love clowning on Jericho but that injury was genuinely, GENUINELY tragic.
He should've flipped the Uso promos and the Hudson v Reigns match. The Usos had so much more stamina.
Duke's injury right after the double pop was actually heartbreaking I actually teared up
Not only is Ken Shamrock in this game, he was the very first wrestler Jawnny played as during the midnight release stream. :D
It's been a hell of a season, boys!
Love the ongoing story of Jericho fumbling the bag and giving up
Ken Shamrock is in this game through the Wrestlemania Showcase mode
i really like the idea of putting together a pool of guys you all like and drafting from there. that sounds awesome
This! There are tons of modern stars in DPW, AEW, and NJPW!
Gotta have DPW Reps
I mean I'd be happy if they just ran it back on normal but added in a few legends and other guys since they very rarely if ever sign any mid season so maybe they could start with a couple each instead
Wait I only now realized is the reason Johnny kept pushing Wolfgong as Undertaker because he’s Teddy Long and he needs people to go one on one with da Undertaker?

3.Batista shows up in gm mode even if you haven’t unlocked him. Idk if it’s a mistake or what but, big poppa pump is that way too.
There's also a modding tool thing called Tribute to unlock everything so that those "set on by default" guys can be turned off
@ oh sweet. Didn’t realize that. I’m on console.
When you go into your custom draft pool, you can set every wrestlers style, popularity, stamina, and contract status. You can NOT decide their secondary style though ring xp level up. Their contract price will be determined by the stats you provide them. If you want to make Hogan a 30 popularity local jobber Giant, the game will let you
We made it, long brains.
I kinda liked the hard mode for this season

We need a WM17 style gimmicks battle royal with all the incredible personas the boys have come up with this season
Once in a lifetime or maybe not brother?
Well maybe so brother!
But it could happen again dude !!
Or not brother it’s a matter of conflict of interest

6:07 you could draw different eras and whoever picks a era has to draft those rosters, and if you wanna trade you can agree to something at trade day. Money etc
Yeah like Golden Age, Attitude Era, Ruthless Agression, Reality and stuff like that.
WOLFGONG Entrance. What a Mania Moment! Lol
Ken Shamrock is unlockable in the showcase mode, he was a guest referee

i think it would be cool for NL+ to have a cut version of just the show rundowns week by week for mildly easier backlog viewing.

Roman shoot killed Duke so he wouldn't have to face him at mania
I don’t think CAW’s would be a big issue considering that you only really see the character’s picture during GM mode.
For CAW when you edit your draft pool you can switch columns to change their Role, Style and place of appearance (Draft, Local pool, Contracts to be scouted). I think you can change their popularity too and that the only variable you can't touch is their Rank/Level

"you're both going to time out"

jericho's match had me in fucking stiches hahahah
If you use the legends from the game in the draft they ask for like 500-700k because of their ring level so you’d be better off turning them into caws
45:19 I felt like that one fan after Taker lost at Mania here. Duke “The Dumpster” Hudson was robbed of his Mania moment.
It’s my birthday and this is the BEST! GIFT! EVER!!!
Use more custom renders. I checked CC last week and there are a ton. It would be cool to see them in game like 2K23

48:20 PLAYA! Let’s fucking GOOO
Johnny in week 24 has two fall count anywhere power cards, books a falls count anywhere match, doesn’t use one of the cards. SMH
let's go future of the business always ready
1:14:37 Nope, cards don't carry over to the next season anymore (sadly)
Wolfgong needs the Goldberg chant when he comes to the ring, except they're just saying "GONG" and nobody is in sync.
Good job boys. Please do more. Please.
PLEASE CARRY THIS ON ITS SO GUD
WRESTLEMANIA COMEEE ONNNN!!!
A new NL video on my birthday?! I love it
Next season Wolfgang gang should uk brian lee and start DOA 2000 with some bald dudes
Almost missed the WRASTLEMANIA train, Brother. What?
When's the new video coming out?
The only problem I can see with an Attitude Era GM Mode is the lack of women.
I would love to see a my eras on WWE 2k25 like NBA 2k25

Who is still waiting for Wrestling Empire gm mode part 2
I have watched 4 seasons of Jericho throwing over and over. I am done NXTing
A season mode reset would be pretty damn awesome
my comfort series has come to a close ;-;
You where season 2?
Roman accelerated that Duke feud in the worst way 😅😅 sent it into hyperdrive
Wolfgong was based for that entrance alone. RIP

The otj (original tribal jawnnny) no yeet
Thank you for longing our brains❤
CUSTOM. GM. MODE. FOR. SEASON. TWO
Dynamite finish boys! ❤🎉🎉🎉
I'd love it if you boiz put some nL legends in the next draft like Ogle and Al Ian

My brain cannot possibly get any lon… nope, there it goes.
LOOKS LIKE WE MADE IIIIT!
Please do a custom CAW season I BEG YOU!!!!!!
Been fun, fellas!
1:16:55 Jawnny with the Psychostick shout out!
Im in favor of a reset because you didnt edit the draft pool so you're missing out on all the alt versions of wrestlers

I think you should restart but have a bunch of CAWs of talent not in WWE (malakai black, mansoor, etc) and edit the draft pool
can you guys do a season whit only locals (jobbers)? in draft pool you can chance locals to actives
Hell yeah
Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
shamrock is in the game
