    As a Star Alliance Gold member via United, I appreciated using priority lanes and Star Alliance lounges overseas.

    The only way you wouldn't see a benefit of an alliance, is if you've never had status with one. Great video well explained Dan 🙏🏻

      Theres one airline that is supported by their amazing Government. Emirates. Emirates is very confident without an alliance I do not seeing them join an alliance soon. Sir Tim Clark and the Emirates team are already proud so I don't think that will be happening any time soonm

      @@EthanRS10 Emirates is an interesting airline. Emirates has a close partnership with Qantas. Qantas is part of the One World Alliance. Emirates recently formed a partnership with United Airlines. United Airlines is part of the Star Alliance.

      @@Alfextreme007 Qantas Airways partnership with Emirates is a sore point with Oneworld Member Qatar Airways.
      Qatar Airways has long argued that it’s alliance partner has tried to undermine it by lobbying the Australian Government to limit their access to major Australian airports in favour of Emirates.

    Great new channel Dan. I would be interested to know what you think of Value Alliance, Vanilla Alliance, and U-Fly. The sort of things that would be interesting to hear about include how the two LCC alliances differ from the legacy carrier alliances, and whether regionally based alliances are much benefit for passengers or the airlines over other options like codesharing.

    I have benefited from airline alliances. I have been able to accumulate and use miles in each of the alliances where I am a member of one of the partner airlines. But I have found that each member of the alliance doesn't always offer the best route when searching on their websites, but instead pushes their service first even if an alliance member offers a more convenient routing. So, you need to check on several partner websites to get the best deal and most convenient routing.

    Really excellent explanation here and for the best one is Oneworld Alliance because Emerald Status gives you access to a first class Lounge followed by Star Alliance Gold. Airline Alliance FFQs I have are Skyteam Alliance Skypass Oneworld Alliance Asia Miles

  • @gower23
    @gower23 Месяц назад

    Oneworld is like an aeronautical equivalent of the British Empire. British Airways/Qatar (now one and the same) run the show and their lackeys in American and Qantas feed them with connecting traffic.

    Disadvantage is booking 5 stars reliable on-time airlines only to be Codeshare with 3 stars.

  • @jma7386
    @jma7386 Год назад +1

    In terms of benefit, I think Oneworld is the best as Emerald status you can go to any first class lounge with economy ticket. For connectivity Star Alliance is the best, but their mileage earning for codeshare is a mess, sometimes it maps into a non earning class! As for Skyteam I find their entry status (Elite) is the best compare to *A and OW, they lack of good carrier and I fly them the least.

    I am very happy that there are these three global airline alliances.
    I've got a frequent flyer account in the One World Alliance. I've got a frequent flyer account in the Star Alliance.
    Oman Air is currently in the process of joining the One World Alliance.
    Virgin Atlantic is currently in the process of joining the SkyTeam Alliance.
    Do you think that Etihad will ever join an alliance?

      Experimenting with thumbnails as we launch the channel, all part of understanding video performance over time and the algorithm 😊

    • @kbhasi
      @kbhasi 8 месяцев назад

      If I recall correctly, it's a feature of TubeBuddy and/or vidIQ, and it's basically A/B testing (generic term for what RUclips calls 'experiments') where someone makes multiple thumbnails, uploads them into the app instead of directly to RUclips, and those apps then log the amount of views that come in and pick a thumbnail to keep. I've seen this done on channels owned by Linus Media Group where some videos switch between different thumbnails and/or titles before settling.

      @@GlobeTrottingAtDjsAviation may also be because of the domestic Market that where competition is not high. What if they joined then they might had lesser difficulties, and their network would be bigger since there are a lot of Filipinos all around the world and they could've helped more in promoting the tourism in the country and the local enterprises

    • @johniii8147

      Their performance has been nothing about great milestones. They have been struggling along for years. The biggest reason they haven't joined an alliance were safety restrictions (ie banned from European airspace for an extended period) and lack of IT infrastructure needed to integrate with the alliance systems. They do have codeshare agreements with over 10 carrier.

    Miles became a sore point with credit card shopping spend conversion to miles then points inflation back to frequent flyer types then to basically business class frequent flyer usage patterns.
    Lounges had become widely accepted and people are willing to pay for per use lounge with amenities, independent of class and airline and alliance and big businesses (bank priority cards with lounge access)... walking distance between specific lounges...
    Code sharing is a burden if airline have to maintain business class or first class seat configurations for others.
    Modern lifestyle mobile-computers makes prebooking flights and missing connecting flights the problem of paranoid politicians who fear losing control of people they didn't enslave.
    Others should just buy a connecting flight ticket after arriving
