Supposedly Cousteau and his cronies invented the idea of putting walkie-talkies into the helmet. But we made ours with a special rabbit ear on the top so we could pipe in some music.
"That's an endangered species at best. What would be the scientific purpose of killing it?" "......Revenge." Such a quality film. Looove the soundtrack.
@Abrakadabro666 that's a little harsh you're right. It has good qualities it just seems kind of unpolished at times. A pretty good movie, not Bill's best movie.
It’s the same guy who did the soundtrack for Thor Ragnarok and a bunch of other movies. He was one of the frontmen for Devo in the 80s before he got into film scores
Definitely a genius with a smattering of organised controlled insanity. That's my take anyway. I love this song in particular for that aspect. Can't get it outta my head since the film came out. It often replaces the negative moments of internal dialogue I am prone to.
Mark Mothersbaugh also made the theme "Roo's Tubes" for Crash Team Racing on the PS1 back in 2000-ish. It's another underwater theme, and it's very similar sounding to the beginning of this track. Eerily similar. Worth a look.
Good post - I like this major retro styled tune - quite addictive and works well with the modern production. For some original old school electronics check out "Cleopatra" by Georges Teperino
Damn this is an awesome tune :) And how on Earth could I have missed this movie? With a cast like that it can't be anything but great! Gotta watch it asap...
its a shame even tho he was a major character in the movie owen wilson isnt on the cover ,,but it just defines his death in the movie ..this picture is after he dies .
From 3:03 to 3:32, I feel like I was watching an old documentary about the ocean. You know? The out-dated but mesmerising kind they used to show you in school, like in 3rd or 5th grade?
@moeezS I noticed that too! And in the same video, they use another song that's similar to one on the Life Aquatic soundtrack - "La Niña de Puerta Oscura" by Paco de Lucía. Weird, huh?
"Do the interns get Glocks?"
-"No, they all share one."

*starts dancing*
-"Steven? Are you here to rescue me?"
-*Shrugs*
-"Fold.."
-*Gun Shot* (shootout ensues)
Bushido Brown he rescues Harold from Harold and Maude lol
I completely forgot about this piece for like... twelve years. It's so good though.

Well, he's actually pretty creepy. But this song was what made him kind of cool.

I DIDN'T JUST LIKE IT!
I can see why a lot of people don't like this movie, but when it works for you (like it does for me), oh man does it WORK.
I feel like if you don’t like this movie, you just aren’t smart enough to understand.
@@morgandillard4033 Explain the brilliance of this Movie, would you?
@@thewaynes3390 funny red hat look for fishy
@@thewaynes3390 honestly I see it as a metaphor for depression
@@morgandillard4033 This is exactly the kind of thing a decidedly unremarkable person would say.

Good film but quality isn't the first word that I would use describe it lol.
@@Roddy556sure it is.

Anybody notice that the sign in the submarine says only a total of 6 passengers allowed...and there's 12 of them in it.
John Smith it's a joke and there are more anyway
@@legoroan9866 I don't think you had to tell OP it was a joke. ;)
Whoever came up with this song is either a certifiable genius or a complete wacko. Either way........

@@go2yanks Don't forget that he had involvement with Rugrats too. Certifiable Genius to be sure.
Mark mothersbaugh. probably best known for Devo. So yeah, both of those descriptions are accurate.

Such a classic movie. Love it!
I always wanna play the maraca at 2:12 and 3:35. Or break out into a crazy dance.
'AH! leeches!! Wait am i the only one who got hit? whats the deal?'
I did indeed. Brilliant. But then again, what are they basing that on? They haven't taken into account the weight of said passengers.
Yeah, generally people should only listen to music if there's also something to look at. :P
@SJ363 I think it's because of the immense amount of bass in the beginning part.
this is the best song ever
@monyskins i know what you mean man post modern freak out/interpretative dance
are we on an adventure?
This song is completely preposterous. But I fucking love it.
@RashRaceway but he would have to share it with all the interns.
