0:30 mine lives with these leads for over 30 years ( and she is healthy ) . I tried to gathered stuff from the forest ( which normal tortoises eat ) but she didn’t touch it . I also give her calcium and a strawberry once a week

what grasses and hays would you recommend for a hatchling sulcata
I have dogs and everything else in my yard so I don’t feed my sulcata grass from outside , so I use organic wheat grass and he loves it .
What can I feed my tortoise on the daily besides hay and grass?
Strawberry & Banana you should keep everything varied but you can feed the hibiscus and opuntia Cactus

My Sulcata's are so picky. They eat grass which is great. I planted heaps of Hibiscus and they won't touch it.

Iceberg is more for hydration not romaine. Romaine is nutrient rich for tortoises. Because they’re able to extract a lot from very little romaine is quite nutritious for them. Better for grasses and hays for majority

Very simple in the summer time grass and weeds and in the wintertime Missouri and little Romain. Problem solved.

Had a question is it okay to give them repti calcium with D3 powder from zoo med 3 times a week I have two Sulcata’s there 6 months I give them one tea spoon full and spread it on romain . Kale . Spinach . Green mustard..... a lot more greens but is it okay for me to give it to them 3 times a week a tea spoon full? Because there so picky they don’t like the pallets or tortoise re cal colorful pallets they won’t eat it so am giving them the calcium powder on there greens and they do eat it because of there greens.. will they be okay with what am doing

The best food/plant you could possibly feed them is elephant grass from their native area
Whats the type of cactus you have for them?
I just recently got a young Sulcata tortoise from a friend and I’ve had him for about 2 days now and haven’t been able to get him to eat anything. He’s about the size of my palm so he’s still small but I’ve tried spring mixes and the dry food pellets he provided but he just doesn’t seem interested in anything? Is this something o should be concerned about or what recommendations could you give me as I’ve never owned a tortoise before? He seems really healthy and is full of life. Just doesn’t want to eat for some reason?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

The rightmost nail of my sulcata hatchling seems to be dislocated and is about to fall off. No signs of pain whenever in contact. What should be done about this prob? Thank you!
Johann Sales well it could’ve been just an accident and it could’ve hurt it’s nail and that’s fine in that case it will heal and nothings wrong but it could be sick and loosing them if you see that it’s not active and not eating like normal you’ll have to take it to the vet
He's well and active, has good appetite. I can't tell clearly why he had such accident. Been checking his enclosure to see how did he come up to this kind of situation. Anyways, thank you for the advise!

Make sure your plants have their own enclosure, or are growing on the outside of the tortoise enclosure, lest they will destroy the plants.
