There's a lot of freshie scents out there too. There's a lot of every type of fragrance out there now. Not too much is all that unique in this day and age.

I am probably a lot older than you, and as my olfactive memory recalls, vanilla was *non-existant* in masculine perfumery in the 70s, in the 80s and most of the 90s. Having the exception of JPG Le male, lauched in 1995 - This fragrance was very popular at night in clubs, but I felt it so unpleasant back then, being that bothering "dusty smell" to my nose...
Fast forward 30 years, I still don't own any single JPG Le male flanker in my collection, as I don't own any Versace Eros yet today.
I eventually got a Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin in 2010, which I may have sprayed out about 5 times ever since, it just doesn't work well with me. I save it just for the sake of having it.
The "Gourmand" scents smell very unnatural to may nose, and I get instant headaches as a reaction against them. Ambroxan, which is totally synthetic, was not used heavily anytime in the perfume industry. It was never mainstream, until De Machi put it in Dior Sauvage, about a decade ago.
For me, a person who love perfumery across the ages, the last 15 years have been very challenging, having so many indistinguishable sweet "weird smelling" fragrances, through MY personal perspective, of course.
Today, I literally gag with Paco Rabanne, Azzaro, JPG and Versace new creations. They are so HEAVILY sweet and I genuinely CAN'T find any attractiveness in dessert-like smelling humans.
Well...
It is what it is... but for the sake of my sanity, I just crossout, anything vanilla during my personal olfactive journey.

@@vanderleitadeudesouza3358 I got ya. We all like what we like and ya I take it your quite a bit older. I'm 37 and am into a variety of different scents. But I definitely understand that the sweet stuff wasn't around when you got into the hobbie so it's just not your thing.

Just Bought North Stag III
Got my bottle of North Stag Deux today. It smells and wears like Layton. Funny, mine is a bit on the soft side. Maybe it needs maturation (as a lot of Paris Corner fragrances). I've owned Layton and this one is spot on because it is rich, thick with high quality oils like the OG. Phenomenal, just hope it gets louder :))

@@lncf9364 This is recap is going to be disappointing, sorry in advance. 1. I also bought UN and I have a decant of Tygar. Opening seems synthetic on both but darker and with a slight undercurrent of black pepper with UN. At this point it's more grapefruit than fake citrus but Un still has that dark pepper attribute. Both take a long time to settle down. Seriously, a very long time compared to every other scent I have. After the wait, 45 min. to an hour for me they are absolutely indistinguishable. 2. Deux, I don't have Layton and I've never experienced it so I can't do a direct comparison, that's the disappointment I was referring to. It's such a popular, ubiquitous scent that I wanted to get the experience on the cheap. I found it to be a gorgeous scent that's unlike anything I currently have. Wish I could say that it ended up being as good a clone as UN but I can't yet. I am searching out a decant for comparison.

@@someonesomeone2022 the longevity doesn't feel very long to me personally. Maybe a couple hours and then it's a skin scent, however I haven't officially done a legit wearing out and about or at work.
Hey Ross, I was checking these out and the site descriptions and what you read off were all jumbled. The listing on their site for Un didnt mention Ambroxan at all. I am completely confused 🤣

That Layton clone cant be touching Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu Ross. That stuff SLAPS. Have you smelt it?
Try Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu (Layton clone). That is some good good and imo the best Layton clone on the market.
There are videos about it, that exklusif bleu is not original from al haramain. So somebody is cloning the clone lol. I can’t find it on fragrantica anymore too

Idk if I got a bad batch or what but I do not like Amber Our Exclusif Bleu at all and definitely don’t get any Layton out of it. I’ve compared them side by side and just can’t jump on board with the Amber Oud. It smells extremely synthetic and cheap to me

Because it's so obvious lol. Tygar is an unmistakable scent. So having smelled thousands of fragrances doesn't earn me the benefit of the doubt huh? Jesus lol. There is a reason I do this everyday for years and years man. It's my thing and my passion
Tygar is a very recognizable scent and when he first read the note breakdown, being someone who has been into fragrances for years, I also thought of a few fragrances, one of them being Tygar. I have no doubt in my mind that he knows what these fragrances are clones of as he has been in the field for years. He owns the right to call his nose a seasoned one.
