this show was an exception. The creator had come up with Dallas, so the network was hands off let him do whatever he wanted w/Knots. Only that has that power is Shonda Rhimes and she earned it. The key was that he and most of writers, directors, producers, cast &crew stayed w/show til the end. When u start having revolver door or producers, you end up with a massacre at a royal wedding (Dynasty) or the Bobby dreamed it season. 'sides now it's all self contained 43 min plots.

KL's three beautiful leading ladies (described by TV Guide as "a magnificent triumvirate of Flesh, Spirit, and the Devil") all in the same place, at the same time: one is shot, one is kidnapped, and one appears about to have a miscarriage. This is the single greatest cliffhanger ever done by any soap, anytime, anywhere.

The same happened on Dallas in the 1982 cliffanger "Good-Bye, Cliff Barnes" and Sue Ellen and JR are at cliff's bedside and Sue Ellen tells JR if Cliff dies, she could never marry him. Then when the 82-83 season opened SueEllen was still by cliff;'s bed in the same outfit & she cut her hair short too. LOL The producers must have wanted to scream because of the huge change in these 2 actresses hairstyles LOL

In Sue Ellen case while she was at the hospital visiting Cliff Barnes she decided to change her hair style just in case Cliff Barnes wake up, he will notice Sue Ellen new hairstyle. I am being SARCASTIC here. I can only imagine the producers reaction when both women showed up on the set with a new hairdo.

Near the end of Gary and Abby marriage, Gary would probably chip in on the gas if someone kidnapped Abby. 😆

I wish Grace Zabriskie was in the 1976 remake of King Kong.

Yes! That’s who the gunwoman here is! Grace Zabriskie! Such an iconic face, made for the camera...good actress too!

@@Mister_Listener Yes, Grace Zabriskie plays the chambermaid who’s a hit lady. I wish she was in the 1976 remake of King Kong.

@@Matthewsmollen4 i am a fan of Graces, sure, but i dont understand the King Kong reference! Explain!

@@Mister_Listener I’m just considering it. I’m creative. If she was in the 1976 remake of King Kong, I would want her characters name to be Lisa. She would die by falling off a log bridge with other crew people when Kong shakes them off.

Karen getting shot was a last minute of the writers..They needed more of a dramatic ending...!!

He couldn't do that back then because Abby still had a vice grip on his junk, LOL. but it was true. I have to agree with Abby when she and Karen had their final fight before she left the show, that She and Gary were acutally in Love. But still It will always Val and Gary forever (notice how everyone always says Val and Gary instead of Gary and Val? hmmmmmm points to ponder.

ElJefeNLA Gary might've eventually fell inlove with her, but when they first hooked up, and him and Val separated....He was still in love with, Val. He wanted to make it work. Val let him go. To me...It was never really love with, Gary for Abby. It was the excitement! He was an alcoholic for Christ sake! Gary NEVER stopped loving Val, even after he married Abby. IJS

This is when KL lost its “community spirit” and became too centered on business aspects.
