You read my mind when you said you would like to make the pants with the wrap in front. Super cute and comfortable. I just love all your amazing makes.
Love your quilts. I’m a quilter too. I’m leaning to slow down, cutting accurately, sewing pieces together accurately and yes ironing seams as you go. My friend uses a spray starch for the seams to iron real flat. You are amazing! Love your podcasts! You are so honest.
After 20 years with the same machine I just got a Janome 9480 and I am in love! I was also wanting a better machine for piecing and quilting tho have only made clothes and bags so far but after watching your podcast I’m wanting to pull out my quilt from 20 years ago and get back to piecing.
I hear you on the glasses! I've worn glasses since 2nd grade. There have been little spurts in my life where I wore contacts but have really stuck strictly to glasses for the last 12 years and don't plan on going back to contacts. LOVE LOVE LOVE your floral pants - such a fun floral and great colors to match with everything! Take care.
I loved this episode Megha! You made me smile a lot and I laughed out loud about the sewing machine repair person calling you the buttonhole lady! I love seeing your knits and sewing projects! Have fun on your travels
I love your self drafted tees! I am almost ready to cast on one with a very similarly colored yarn to your current one. I will be using the free Trescao Jumper pattern, just doing short sleeves. It also has eyelet increases, but uses garter at all the hems. Thank you for a super lovely episode! ❤
Congratulations on finishing your half and half triangles wrap - I’m trying to finish mine which has taken about the same time so I know it’s a huge achievement!
Very nice curb appeal! Beautiful quilts and fabrics. Also interesting to hear about your cat with no sense of self preservation. I have one of those too. She eats yarn and string, my plastic knitting cables and electric wires too. Have fun in Toronto
The next two projects I have planned out are blues and coral 😅 I'm so into the blues and oranges right now too. I love talking to people in person about their work. I am with you, so much better to talk to an expert in person ❤ Enjoy your new clothes and have fun at Knit City!
maybe what I'm going to sa is sacrilegious, but I need to get it off my chest: I LOOOOVE your tangents! They are what I am so much looking forward to every time you release a new episode
Megha, I'm so glad you said that it took you a year and a half to do you half and half triangle shaw. I recently started a Soho Square shawl which is essentially a half and half triangle but with a couple of wide stripes strategically incorporated. Love your podcasts.
Hi Megha. Another inspiring episode. I always watch you with a pen and paper nearby! If you are looking for an edging for your self drafted pattern check out A Touch of Lace by Barbara Hurd a free pattern on Ravelry. It’s a shawl but I’m going to use the easy but beautiful lace on my tee.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. I have been wearing glasses since I was seven years old and I don’t like wearing contacts, I have them but don’t wear them. I just knit the “Noni” by Pip& Pin and I used an I- cord bind off around the neck a n the sleeves and it came out fine.
Wonderful podcast as always! Have you seen the Mystical Lanterns pattern? I thought of you when I saw it. They have a blanket, shawl and scarf versions. I saw a scarf at my LYS, it was used as a table runner, it stopped me as I was walking by, so beautiful. Happy knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting!! 🧶 🧵 🪡
Ooh! You'll be at Knit City? I hope it's not weird if I stop you, Mel, and Selma and say hi! I promise I only seem weird... :) Also, when you're in the city, a trip to any of the local yarn stores would be well worth it - there's some fantastic restaurants near by. If you go to Kensington Market and Yarns Untangled, the Fish and Chips place in the market is REALLY good. If you head to St. Lawrence Market (no yarn store near by), The peameal bacon sandwiches at Carousel are famous, the seafood place at the back (Busters) is fantastic, and there's an amazing Italian place in the basement - check out the eggplant parmesan sandwiches. Eweknit and Romni have excellent food recs in the area too!
Megha, you are influencing me!😆 I have recently received an order for Lovetand, although I don't think I have enough to make a t-shirt like yours (next order!). So, now I'm thinking that I might make a Venetian tank like yours. All of your quilting has also got me thinking about the Moda layer cakes I bought when we moved into our house (13 years ago!). And now I want to make culottes, too? I just can't keep up with you! (P.S. I am currently knitting a tank in a dusty/antique rose color. Can you guess why?!) Thanks for the fun - @lamanchaknitter
Good info on machines. Did he give you a recommendation for a serger? I would like a self threading machine but the servers are expensive and I cannot justify it to just serger steeked sweaters.
Yes he did go off on a tangent on sergers :D He did say the brother sergers are the best, except the one that is called 'tough and strong' or something like that. He said they took their worst machine and put the tough and strong label on it :D
love love your channel..... question for your culottes, in the back you have elastic. Is this an option in the pattern or you just added an elastic and omit to put the zipper?
Ooh so Helens Closet website has multiple hacks available for free on their website! If you look for winslow culottes hack, you will see a whole blog post about it
