Am I seeing it right that you are smiling pretty much all the time? That's why I want an RS Aero, too :)

I believe the numbers. I wanted an Aero but went for a Weta Trimaran instead. Going to get a VIRB and see what it will do.

It is possible, that's proof, gps tracked, done on multiple days, have overtaken many "faster boats". Have you sailed one? I have sailed 49ers, b14s, rs600's rs800s, foiling moth, etc. I've never sailed a mono hull that goes like this in breeze!

      it is obviusly a froud

Put an wishbone on that sail and do it standing up. More fun, more speed, more everything.

I have to say....it looks like you're having a right easy time of it! I'm surprized! getting up to 15 and above in a laser doesn't look like this! Its hard work! ....It may be that you are just a much better sailor than I - but I have heard that the Aero is remarkably "easy" to sail at speed...meaning: not a ton of muscle needed. Would you agree with this? I'm thinking of buying one.

Its a completely different beast to a laser, it weighs nothing and the foils work ;o) I would say its easier once you've got used to how responsive it is. If you're not used to the boat doing exactly what you tell it to then it will feel really twitchy and throw you all over the place in this breeze, especially coming from a laser. It's really a laser that's been sorted and doesn't break your back when you bring it up the beach (30kg hull weight!) it just flies on a broad reach. Laser hull is twice that weight and that's before you get into the rig weight and righting moments, etc.

I experienced lack of rudder control at speed on a Laser: is this not an issue on the Aero?

Not really no, the boat just works.

Lack of rudder control? You must keep it flat...

@@JettyBuilder No that´s not the reason. From a certain speed on upwards the laminar flow on the rudder tends to rip off, sending the boat off and about. That´s a common phenomenon on a laser.

Hate to say it but I don't think 20 knots is possible in an Aero. A 49er or an F18 will struggle to hit 20 most days. Great video nonetheless!

      Aero's are super light though.
I reckon the numbers are quite accurate
