I much prefer the Muffler vs the complete delete. I'm new to the researching the Forester XT world as I'm possibly looking to buy, but in my old turbo audi world, white smoke coming from a turbo engine sure seems like a small turbo oil leak to me. Might just be a temperature condensation thing but I would keep an eye on that.
I think the more important thing to point out is that it already has a 2015+ wrx midpipe so it's not so much an accurate aftermarket muffler delete vs aftermarket muffler video. Nonetheless, great content!
Great video. Have a 2014 XT. What pisses me off is the factory tiny splitter and splitter pipes to the mufflers. Just opening that up will reduce restriction and probably give it a little more tone. How about replacing the splitter with a small 1 in 2 out muffler and straight pipe it to the back? Haven't seen that yet. That's what I'm thinking. Give it a try and make a video.
Top o’ the morning to ya. I really appreciate your Subaru Forester XT videos. I own a 2018 Subaru Forester XT (daily driver) and am curious as to your opinion on what to start with first in regards to modifications. I don’t want to make it a loud vehicle, I prefer the deeper tones/sounds as far as exhaust goes, but definitely something other than stock. I’ve noticed that you’ve changed other minor things here and there, and I’m not sure in what order I should do modifications on my vehicle. I realize that it’s really up to me, but honestly, I’m to mechanically inclined. Are you happy with your LED lights? Did you do LED all the way around and inside ? Hope this message doesn’t thoroughly confuse you, just interested in your opinion on in what order you would tackle modifications if you started with a sock car (that has to be able to pass smog here in California)! Thank you! Looking forward to your next Forester video , and hope to hear back from you. By the way-I’ve never left A message on the RUclips video ever, so I’m not sure if I’m supposed to leave my email address so you can respond. And fact I didn’t even know how to leave a message but my wife showed me how before she left to go to work. So I’ll leave my email address in case that’s what I’m supposed to do in order for you to respond if you have the time. mbonner1970@gmail.com
Thank you for getting back to me! My plan is for it to be a daily driver (the sleeper tyoe😀)! I’d like it to have a little deeper tone/sound (exhaust), and more HP=Speed! On video, like the way yours sounds great! I can’t go stage 2 here in California (if I want to keep it legal and a daily driver). But I believe your experience/knowledge could definitely guide me in the right direction to get it to a Stage 1 Forester. I don’t have much mechanical experience, and I believe that with any information I get from you, will make it less likely that a salesperson might try to get me into more than I need or can use . I’ll be able to shop around having done my research from someone who’s already done it (you). Any information helps! Thanks again for getting back to me! God Bless!
No problem! I think your top mods you should prioritize should be the WRX rear sway bar, WRX midpipe, nameless mufflers and new, thicker wheels and tires
The Human Car Jack what size sway bars did you use for you Forester? I’m taking your advice/suggestions with mods ! Thank you!! Look forward to the information!
What’s your thoughts on flex fuel? Someone is “suggesting” that I also make my car flex fuel capable, but it seems like that is to extreme for me and keeping my 18’ Subaru Forester XT a daily sleeper. Thoughts?
the last bit of the clip, I guess it was the angle but it looked as if the right pipe had the muffler on it and the left was straight piped lol. any difference in the cabin between the two?
Not that it matters, but I just unsubscribed to her channel since I’m not getting any information from her directly in regards to questions that I’ve asked. I really do appreciate Your information brother! Thank you
What’s the difference between a delete and a axle back when it comes to installation? I noticed the axle back is wayyyy more expensive than the delete but it’s also quieter. Please helps
The Human Car Jack wow thanks for your quick reply! Does delete just mean it has less baffles? And will they both be okay for a smog check in the future?
The Human Car Jack wow I didn’t even notice the difference when I was looking at the pictures but it was right In my face. Haha thanks for all your help and vids. Just ordered my 5” rig for my wife’s 2020
Nope, they wouldn't work with the FA20DIT motor. Besides, even though the UEL headers sounded great it was an inefficient design compared to equal length
Sounds much better with the muffler. Gives it a good rumble.
I like the deeper tones with the first exhaust.
That sounds nice bro, never knew a Forester could sound that good
Thanks broseph!
4:52 exhaust leak

Subaru's burn oil, unfortunate but true.
I’m new to all this. Thanks for explain in layperson terms and i cant wait for my muffler delete to come in. Thanks
Now I know which one I will go with. Thank you so much
No problem!
I think that sounds great, and that subtle whistle on the decel is noice!
Glad you like it!
Thanks for the comparison! My friend just bought a 2018 Forester XT so of course I am trying to get him to mod it. That's what friends are for, right?
Exactly! 💯
Delete is much better, more natural.
I think the more important thing to point out is that it already has a 2015+ wrx midpipe so it's not so much an accurate aftermarket muffler delete vs aftermarket muffler video. Nonetheless, great content!
To be honest the midpipe made almost no difference in sound on it's own
@@TheHumanCarJack oh ok. Thanks for the insight!
No problem
Im curious how did you know the WRX Y pipe would fit with the new ones? Do they all use the same size tips to connect?

I actually just 3inch straight piped it all the way through. Sounds ridiculous haha video coming soon

Hey there bud! It all depends on what your goal is for the car. Are you going to daily it, race it, save it as a weekend cruiser?
Thank you for getting back to me!

I had an OEM wrx rear sway bar (19mm) but this past weekend I upgraded to a 22m. Video coming soon!
What’s your thoughts on flex fuel?
Someone is “suggesting” that I also make my car flex fuel capable, but it seems like that is to extreme for me and keeping my 18’ Subaru Forester XT a daily sleeper.
Thoughts?
Man I'm still waiting to hear a good exhaust for this car, but haven't yet.
Yeah the FA20DIT doesn't have much of a growl but Nameless seems to deliver, IMO, the best sound thus far
the last bit of the clip, I guess it was the angle but it looked as if the right pipe had the muffler on it and the left was straight piped lol.
any difference in the cabin between the two?
Cabin sounds are pretty much the same tbh!
Sounds like sti to me
How is the highway noise? Any drone?
None whatsoever!
Putting on the muffler delete doesn't throw any check engine codes right? Sounds great!
Thanks and nope no CELs
as long as you still have the cats on the exhaust you shouldn't throw codes
Not that it matters, but I just unsubscribed to her channel since I’m not getting any information from her directly in regards to questions that I’ve asked. I really do appreciate Your information brother! Thank you
Yeah I’m not a fan of her. She is too fast with her info and doesn’t reply
Which one do u think is better.. Louder.. Deper sound? For a dual exit?
My favorite setup is the catless downpipe with the 4" inch mufflers
Thanks for the video. Any idea where to buy it in Europe? Or in Africa? Thanks
Can't say sorry. You can email them directly to find out
Bro I know u are living in NY (I am in NYC) since u said local pick up only. I wonder how much are u going to sell it.
$400. Interested?
The 5" mufflers sounded like the car wanted to die
What’s the difference between a delete and a axle back when it comes to installation? I noticed the axle back is wayyyy more expensive than the delete but it’s also quieter. Please helps
Install is the same. 2 bolts to remove
The Human Car Jack wow thanks for your quick reply! Does delete just mean it has less baffles? And will they both be okay for a smog check in the future?
No problem. Delete is basically just a pipe, nothing to it at all. Depending on your state you may or may not pass smog
The Human Car Jack wow I didn’t even notice the difference when I was looking at the pictures but it was right In my face. Haha thanks for all your help and vids. Just ordered my 5” rig for my wife’s 2020
I’m having trouble deciding to go with the muffler vs the delete. It’s just a 2011 legacy 2.5 na motor so what does every one prefer?
The delete is louder. I prefer the delete. The 5” muffler is quiet
Did u have to replace exhaust hanger bushings or kept stock
stock
So did you keep the nameless with no muffler? I wanna buy one but the one with no muffler is 70$ cheaper
Nah sold it ages ago
@@TheHumanCarJack okay sounds good, so you think the 5" muffler sounds better?
I think they sound the same tbh
@@TheHumanCarJack okay cool , ill probably go with the cheaper option for now
Did your 5 inch mufflers have a drone at highway speeds? 65-80 mph
Can't remember tbh
Oh man lol thanks though. Good luck on your short block!
Thanks bro! Coming soon
Is it possible to change the equal headers with a unequal headers set ?
Nope, they wouldn't work with the FA20DIT motor. Besides, even though the UEL headers sounded great it was an inefficient design compared to equal length
@@TheHumanCarJack Is it more possibile when I change the Engine with FB20 Engine ?
Probably better with a FA20 from the BRZ but youre sacrificing power initially unless you tune the crap out of it
@@TheHumanCarJack i now but the boxersound is tooo awesome.....I hope Subaru brings back old school Turbo
Is that an oem wrx midpipe?
Yep!
I wish there was a crackle/ pop tune for this car :(
I'm getting a burble tune to produce some crackles/pops 😊
The Human Car Jack you running anything else beside a CAI/BPV with the tune? I def wanna do a protune before the end of this summer, 15 FXT here
Nope just CAI, BPV and catback
How does it sound driving since it’s a cvt?
Pretty good, the simulated gears sound legit
oh well, I think it sounded better before. don't sell those mufflers.
How’s the drone?
It was droney under throttle
