U-turn on Planned Use of Ballinrobe Hotel for International Protection Applicants

- In the past few days it emerged that the former JJ Gannons Hotel in Ballinrobe, Co Mayo was going to be used to house 50 male international protection applicants.
There was a huge push back from local people, who have been staging a constant 24/7 presence at the building since news broke.
Today it was reported by Mayo Fine Gael Councillor, Micheal Burke, that as of this morning, the 'lease is withdrawn for the current proposal'.
Although locals are delighted with the news, they are planning to maintain their presence for the coming days as there is still scepticism.
Councillor Micheal Burke seems to be accepting praise for his efforts but don't be fooled. Burke is the same man who acted to shut down a Special Meeting of Mayo County Council last year to discuss the fallout of mass immigration into Mayo. He cannot be trusted. Vote him out next election!

Tried doing it myself last year In meath, got threatened online with been called a liar, I've also been threatened by a dangerous middle eastern man who tried to grope my chest walking home from school with my 7 year old son! Broad day light!, the b&b that's keeping them never pre warned the town of Trim, they were keeping these strangers dangerous Arbs and great hulking Africans and Algerians- their the worst - they take pictures of kids and put them on porn sites for money! Many of the independent TD's sided with the government during the no confidence vote so I certainly won't be voting for them

Yes exactly I couldn't care less what they call me they brought these unvetted undocumented illegal migrants in and put them everywhere they could except near any of them and it certainly didn't matter what background they had either when they allowed them to enter without documents why should residents have unknown people living in there area and be expected to agree to it because our supposed representers in power couldn't bother there backsides to have proper procedures in place for checking any of them

Two likeable women and amazing success, especially considering that they only found out about the plan at the last minute.
It sounds as though it was going to be used as an army barracks because 50 men with only 12 bedrooms would mean four in each bedroom and five in two of them, so bunk beds.
UN or EU army bases are being stationed all over Ireland, this is an invasion and yet there are stil a fewl stupid people saying that they love to see lots of foreigners here.
Well done to the two ladies and to the people of Mayo, thanks to the man who's channel this is for bringing this to us.
