Bolino deserves to be financially set for life, it's an absolute shame rollerblading could not provide for him at the same level as someone like Nyjah Huston. It takes a real level of maturity to say "rollerblading never owed me anything". If the money ever comes back to blading, there should be an OG fund set up to help those who purely did it for the love during the silent years.

This is easily one of the best comments on this topic that I have ever read. I wish somebody could dig a lil deeper into this. why could we, as the blading community, not provide for our all time greatest as much as they deserve? Is it just the sheer lack of people being actually rollerbladers? Is the reason that the money which was put into blading by buying all kinds of stuff (blades, wheels, frames, other parts) never got into the pockets of them. I cannot answer but maybe some of the people with more "insights" could try to find some answers.

@@FreeCADAcademy skating became so expensive to start doing. Wheels, frames and the fact that your foot grows as a kid. It's easier to buy one skateboard or now ( scooters). To really generate money you need newcomers all the time. That's why the 90's were the first peak of rollerblading.

Early Alf shoutout is so funny! Love skating with Alf. One winter I met up with him and Shaw to film. Jon Jon was supposed to be there. I was super hyped. Wasn't there. So I asked Alf, "Hey where's Bolino?''. He goes, "Eh Idk, he started rolling down the street, somewhere. That's just Jon Jon. He squirrels off.". Like it was the most natural thing is the world haha. Dig that he's friends with Matty now too. Matty is from this area of Florida. Got to ride around him several times. Super proud. Best to ya John!

I used to love riding eulogy wheels, but things just aren’t the same. I have tried to branch out to try other wheel brands with no luck to having the same feeling or quality of wheel. I would really like to know what wheel people who ride anti and are doing big gaps are going with nowadays? I’m in search for the perfect street wheel. I’m honestly contemplating partnering with a wheel manufacturer to start making my own wheels. John no doubt your an inspiration to me and many others. Hope to see you out at schmidtys!

I remember most of the guys who were well known on Be-Mag were actually pretty high standard, but Bolino and Joey Chase probably the best of the bunch. I like that old Joey Chase section where he does top pornstar to this ridiculous gap at the end. It's a little easier because it's straight down (stairs gaps are a little harder, relatively speaking). He has a few goes at it as the last trick and it's probably the biggest straight drop off I have ever seen attempted. Others include Walt Austin huge forward mute gap in a Fiziks ad and Omar Wysong royales this massive ledge to drop. Henry Hubbard as well who was like the blading version of Ryan Schekler. Little kid with a pair of balls.
Oh also the best 540's down massive stair sets, Julian, but Ski Perkett was a trooper. I like the one in KFC Generic Tour where Aj's like woo let's get some mutha effing steak. Will send some Patreon in man, no worries I donate to a few things and we all gotta eat. Perkett could bea good guest, explaining how he approached those huge gaps in the Razors vidja.. I think he does motorcross now.
