As the Dunk High has been celebrating a huge comeback in 2020, Nike Sportswear is also about to return the iconic »Varsity Maize« colorway initially used to represent the renowned University of Iowa as part of the »SP« release series! The popular basketball silhouette in its high-cut version is of course also famous for its co-branded Wu-Tang Clan collaboration, as the friends-and-family edition sneaker uses the same color blocking in black and yellow.
After the first retro version in 1999, the legendary Dunk Hi SP »Varsity Maize« is about to hit the streets now. With the slogan »Be True To Your Crew«, the Swoosh is not focussing on your school - but on you and your squad!
The message is simple but important: it’s about loyalty, friendship and pushing each other on common projects. And exactly these aspects are embodied by the guys from DMWTW. According to the motto »Be True To Your Crew», we now present you the creative collective DMWTW and the individual crew members in our video.
Who is DMWTW?
The weather is unpredictable, we have no influence and are always forced to adapt to the weather - Don't Mess With the Weather.
This is the vision and message of the DMWTW crew. Through courage and without being forced to adapt, the Frankfurt-based crew manages to tell authentic stories through their work. The collective consisting of musicians, video directors and designers has made it their mission to find their way back to the important things in a world of stimulus satiation and overflow. Without arbitrariness & calculation and without adapting - just like the Dunk, they always stay »true« to themselves!
