I think Akashi's different eye color is just to show us, the audience, the difference (visually) between bokushi (the one w/different eyes) and oreshi (the one w/same eyes).
The Head Coach is the only adult who understands and knows how to coach this team of monsters. It sucks that because of his illness he has to go. While the second head coach is just struggling how to take care of this kids. They're kids, but the adults around them is treating them different. I can understand the new head coach struggling what to say on Aomine on the spot.
The head coach was the only one who knew that teiko will give birth to a team of monsters like he knows what's best for all of them especially aomine cause aomine was losing his passion because he had no one to challenge him but head coach came in clutch he said to aomine that don't give up don't stop practicing keep faith and you'll find yourself someone more amazing than you
The new head coach was in a tough spot, i know its easy to blame him but his bosses were pretty much breathing down his neck to give the gom full privileges
This is the real tragedy of Kuroko's Basketball, and while it sucks on a multitude of levels it's also a big part of the reason why I enjoy the series (and rewatches of it) so much. It's a story of Seirin's rise from the underdogs, but for the GoM it's about getting past their middle school shadows and learning to trust in others again!
btw akashi's eye color suddenly changing is just for artistic purposes or symbolism. i don't think people in the knb universe can see his eye colors changing cause they don't ever react to such a bizarre occurrence. idk if it's confirmed tho.
10:00 Akashi’s eyes are different when he changes his personality it’s just a way to show us viewers that he is not the same anymore and also he calls everyone by their first name when he is the Emperor. The other one is the « good » both of his eyes are red and he cares about the team. Akashi was raised thinking that winners are above everyone and everything else etc. Even when he was nice and kind there’s a part of him that didn’t want to lose because he is the best at everything so When he was about to lose he asked himself if he was really going to lose and the emperor said no cause « he always win and he is always right » that’s why the Emperor has a God complex and keeps saying that he is « absolute » .
@@MrPrince-in2xc Yep, the kind Akashi is more casual when talking about himself hence Ore. Meanwhile, Boku is formal but the way he speaks it is like he is speaking like a king.

Daiki's journey in Teiko always makes me cry :( Abandoning teamplay meant they all feel more like tools than players, especially to the new Akashi. Poor Tetsu too :(
Akashi has a split personality. The eye color is a way to show the audience which akashi is in control. When his eyes are that same color, its the comprehensive, captain akashi (if you notice he calls the members by their last name. Ex: Kise, Aomine, Kuroko). The different eye color is when Emperor Akashi awakes, a personality that manifested due to the the original Akashi fearing that he will be left behind by his Teikō teammates, who were already blooming with their newfound talents. This is the Akashi that only cares to win, and he calls his teammates by their first name. Ex: Daiki, tetsuya, Shintaro
Akashi has a split personality, the author wanted to show the difference in personalities in an obvious way so he changed the color of Akashi's eye to show the readers of the manga and the viewers of the anime the difference.
Yeah i read somewhere that the characters actually dont see his two eye colors when he switched? For them it’s the same color since as you said the change in color was for the benefit of the viewers/readers
Yup also the way he addresses himself and calls GOM and Kagami. Real Akashi - Calls them by their last names. Second Akashi - Calls them by first names.

U gotta realise they said if they force aomine to come practice he’ll probably quit the team eventually, even though that’s not what he needed to hear it was that or he gives up the thing he’s best at for good, at least that’s what they thought.
Yeeep, Kuroko has had it super rough, it's honestly surprising to see how "well adjusted" he seems in the first episodes considering all this heavy baggage. I don't know if anything could be done at this point but I do blame the headmaster for speeding this trainwreck by prioritizing the school's name instead of the mental health of these children. Speaking of that I find it kind weird that the author tried to put Midorima's "bystander syndrome" on the same level of bad behavior as the rest of the GoM's. ...And it isn't even to that egregious level of indifference, Midorima clearly express his distate over their actions and doesn't go along with the crappier things the others get into. I mean, he's the vice captain but is as much of a child as the others at this point so???? Not to say that Midorima didn't have issues but he's not nearly as bad you know?
Crazy how the singular acion of he coach falling sick changed the whole GOM. I wonder what they would have been like if that didnt happen. Aomine wouldnt have changed so murasakibara also wouldnt have changed. Akashi wouldnt have changed as well and theres also kuroko
I'm not sure if they intended for it for some kind of identification but I think Akashi having two different eye color means that this is his alter ego while the one with same eye color is his true self.
Akashi is a monster birthed by the GOM Team become dysfunctional, he was a kind and charismatic leader that prioritize his teammate feeling but the GOM didn't need that Akashi and that is why he took a step back and let the cold Akashi take over, together they birthed that Akashi.
Spoiler!! Akashi is the only one of the Generation that has two "abilities". One is awakened forcibly after being faced with an imminent defeat, which in this case would be the first in his life (be it training, games, and matches), and another that was honed naturally, just like the other members of the Generation. This is because each personality uses the Emperor Eye differently.
This comment is a tiny bit spoilery (the last sentence in particular), but that's fine. In the manga, they mentioned the *possibility* of Akashi having two powers, but it was never stated to what extent, and what the nature of the second power could be. And in the anime, that tidbit was left out altogether. And I honestly think it's better to not say anything about this topic altogether because... SPOILER It sort of spoils the fact that Akashi will revert back to his old self mid-game.
@@GodKnowsWhatIsInHere Actually in the Movie it is confirmed they have 2 powers, which in the end they combine in order to beat Nash's power. Same colored eye akashi has the ability to see the state of the whole court which allows him to now its teammates positioning, allowing him to give "perfect" pases, manifesting their true potential. Emperor akashi has the ability to foresee the future, which in the end is another way of using seeing the state of the whole court. Tecnically they both have the same power, but they use it it different ways, giving them different abilities
@@GodKnowsWhatIsInHere Spoiler!!! No, no. They are two "abilities" anyway, the real Akashi speaks in the Last Game that the Emperor Eye is not an ability of his. It is explained by Midorima that unlike the other members (who awakened naturally), Akashi awakened this ability forcefully in the confrontation against Murasakibara. And it was hypothesized that he had a second ability (which was confirmed in the match against Seirin). But as I said, in the end, it comes out in the different way the two personalities use Emperor Eye. And it becomes more explicit when he is about to merge and the second personality speaks "I am confident that if your court vision that you use to create a perfect pass, merges with the Emperor Eye that can see into the future, you will undoubtedly gain a power equal to or greater than Nash."
@@Dblack062 i know that the "two powers" is a thing, I'm a manga reader. 1v1: Akashi:if i win you will Come to training murasakibara. Stomps murasakibara Akashi:do what you like Murasakibara:what is the point of the 1v1 Akashi:asserting dominance
the thing that gave it away to me early in the series was how Akashi and Cold hearted Akashi call other members differently. Like Normal Akashi calls Kuroko by his family name but Cold Akashi calls him by his first name Tetsuya.
I believe in the manga they did this whole deal differently. Kuroko’s friend lost to a team with twins (shoutout to Miya twins lol), and the GOM were having trouble securing the win against them in the finals. Kuroko came in and they managed to beat them handsomely. Then in their last year, the twins got BODIED by the GOM in the semi finals. Like they were out for revenge… and then got demolished. Idk why they changed it tbh
you know if you think about it when people say Kuroko was having a tough a time deal with the GOM then think again about how Akashi was suffering his whole life under his strict parent and since he couldn't deal with the pressure, he developed a cold hearted personality.
