Autonomous robotic assembly of individual products made out of aluminum profiles

Factory of the Future: The video demonstrates the autonomous robotic assembly of individual products made out of aluminum profiles. At first, the user defines a desired product through an intuitive product configurator on a tablet. The order is then sent to the autonomous assembly system of DLR which finds an appropriate assembly sequence using multiple planning components and a simulation of the real robotic system (planning steps not shown in the video). Finally, the assembly is executed on our dual-arm system in a flexible cell using the sensory feedback of the lightweight robots and compliant assembly techniques. The video was recorded at the AUTOMATICA 2018 tradefair in Munich.
