In the 60s I worked in a Jewish ladies house. She was a survivor of Auschwitz. She despised the Zionists with a passion.when I asked her why she was living in Australia instead of Israel, she snorted in contempt and said "I could never live in a stolen country". This wonderful lady unable to have children of her own had fostered 10 bright aboriginal youths and put them through university. She was like a mother to me and until her passing I was invited to Shabbat many times. As I write this I only have to look up to see a photo of this wonderful caring woman on my wall.

The definition of genocide is
intent on the part of perpetrators to physically destroy a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.
Israel has no intent to destroy Palestinans and in fact Israel is doing it's best not to harm innocent civilians. Civilians in Gaza get hurt because they are cynically used by hamas as human shields. In October 7 hamas launched a sneak attack on Israel and deliberately targeted civilians, mutilation, rape, torture and more was committed... The charter of Hamas states openly thier intention is to destroy Israel thus intent to commit genocide... The only reason hamas didn't manage to commit genocide on Israel is because they where pushed back.

I do believe the next generation has a clearer head, and I really hope I live to see it. When they take over society I hope they open the doors make everyone equal, then form economic relations with all of their neighbor countries and travel for fun and business as guests, receive guests etc

Yes. It must be terrifying to take the "Refuser" path. Sometimes even your family disagrees with your decision. And extremists can be the worst, most hateful bullies. We see that in the US as well -- they're loud, spiteful, and resentful. You cannot logic with them.

Not enough is being said about what was happening not just in Gaza but in the West Bank just prior to Oct. 7. Why isn’t the Palestinian operation on Oct. 7 seen as defensive? What options were left to the Palestinians to defend themselves, their land, and their holy sites being desecrated?

From an outsider’s perspective, not a Muslim, not a Jew, not a Christian, I only hope for peace and tolerance towards as well as coexistence with one another. This is all too sad to be ignored and My heart breaks for all losses of life. Only the governments that are responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians must be prosecuted.
