Bianca I crochet since I was 7, I am 50 now. I use my hands differently when crocheting, I never get blisters. Anyways, I adore your blanket, it’s gorgeous!!!! Thank you for the great video ❤

I’ve learned a lot since posting this, and I’m working on getting comfortable with a new hand position 😁
12:50 girl, I don’t know if the example you showed us here is the way you crochet 100% of the time, but if it is, that is the reason your hand cramps,every single time you finish a granny square. You can use one or more of your fingers on your working hand to stabilize the yarn that’s on your hook, so you don’t have to move your wrist around nearly as much in order to keep it there.

@Biancamakesit I learned to crochet from my grandma, so it's hard to explain. But from what I remember, Bella Coco had a video on her crochet channel about how to hold the hook and yarn ergonomically
I have been crocheting now for about 55 years & never was fond of the grannie square pattern even though I have crocheted it once in awhile but sweet lady your work & color palette has inspired this senior lady.😉

I wish I still had All my Cats with me. I Started with 10 then it went down to 8. And now it's 0. Cause, they All eventually went up to Heaven & are giving God & Jesus a lot of fun Laughs, now. So, Please, I know you dearly Love your Cat. But, it's just wanting a little attention at that moment. And you were busy at the time. "It's better to have 1 then....NONE". I DO MISS, All My Cats. Thank you! I agree, I’ve also learned that I should readjust my hand position when I’m holding the hook… that’s probably why I kept getting blisters on my fingers 😁

I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been crocheting for 40 years and all I do is granny squares, usually 1 big granny square baby blankets with a ruffle border. But, your blanket is absolutely gorgeous and looks so beautiful on your bed. Great job!

I made a full size sunflower granny square blanket last year and got SO tired of making all the small squares! Next time I make something with granny squares I'm going with much larger squares which equals much less work joining them. I crocheted mine together instead of sewing them together but it wasn't any easier. I don't think there's really an easy way to do it...joining granny squares is a pain either way, especially trying to find a comfy position to do so. Your blanket turned out very pretty though! I'd say the discomfort was worth it 😘😀

I’ve just seen this video now. Have you tried ergonomic hooks - something with padding - it definitely helps with hand cramping. I taught myself to hold the hook like a knife rather than a pencil in order to use them. Made a big difference. Clover Amour are my favourites. Susan Bates has ergonomic ones too, or you might be able to buy a foam thingy to slip on the hook you already have. It’s a beautiful blanket!

Nice blanket! About how much did you spend on the yarn?
I went back to the craft store so many times while I was making the granny squares so I don’t remember exactly how much it cost me, but I got all my yarn from hobby lobby and there were certain days where the yarn was 50% off so that helped a lot!

Hold your hook like a knife and let you yarn flow through your fingers on your other hand and you won't have cramps or blisters afterward. There are tutorials that show this. Happy crocheting.

I was thinking about the exact thing but hesitated whether to write or not..☺️ She is very young BUT the way she holds the hook and yarn can even cause carpal tunnel syndrome very soon. If she wants to keep crocheting with ease and fun, she needs to change the style. Then everything will be good🤗🥳
@@BiancamakesitI’ve been crocheting using the same hold as you for over fifty years and haven’t yet developed carpal tunnel syndrome. The trick with any hand work is simply to take an occasional break to let your hands rest. Your blanket is absolutely gorgeous!! 😊

Beautiful blanket, I'm going to use all my very small balls of wool, the only problem you put the squares together so fast and not close up so we can't see how you do it. You do show us how to put the boarder on.

the blanlet is gourgous, although you moght want to start holding your yarn a little different. I used to hold my yarn the exact same way and it started hurting soo bad, dont want that to happen to you! try letting the yarn pass over the top of your finger.
