@UC4pAbzVVsxPTxqBuXmIUPQw It's just that you use stars I believe to express an action or physical happening, but youtube uses the same stars to make bold letters.
That would be good. I have also thought that it would be nice for different time trial lists for the classic cars. The older cars are harder to drive so it would be nice to compare times to other people driving the same car rather than how it is now where on almost every track the 2004 Ferrari is the fastest.
F2004 has got traction control by nature,so I suggest going very aggressive on acceleration because the car will automatically cut the power in lower gears
Only reason it would cut power is if you had the TC on medium or full. Yes you can be more aggressive on the throttle with the older v10's as they didnt have the same amount of torque low down than the modern f1 cars with the 1.6 litre engines have but if you have TC off you cant just stamp on the throttle.
James Foster Trust me,try it yourself. TC turned off and the car will still cut the power, you can feel it and listen it,also other cars like the 2006 Renault have this feature
@@antoniobuccheri5159 yes I know what you mean I've driven the classic cars plenty ot times using no assists but you cant just slam down the throttle with no TC on, but yes you can be more aggressive with the throttle
Mate that was awesome great effort to keep trying till you got it. I was saying a 1:25.3 or .4 was possible. Awesome laps JD. .2 is definitely possible. Love the F2004 imagine with the current grip tyres on that thing. 😎🏎🏆🏁 🎄🥳 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
"running a little wide".... all 4 wheels on the other side of the white line. nice lap though! corner cutting should be as strict as possible in TT, to avoid people taking absolute liberties.
I started a new lap and slightly dropped my front left at turn 3 I think at Silverstone and it invalidated the lap I was on and the next. How tf does me dropping my tyre at the start of 1 lap affect the less? I understand if I went super wide on the last corner at a track like Monza but at the start!
‘The left’ ‘the right’ ‘that corner’ dude, you’re a British motorsport enthusiast as well as a sim racer, and you know the track, so please know the corner names of our Grand Prix circuit! It’s not just Maggots and Becketts haha. Unreal Laps btw 👌🏼
From my point of view, a motor sport engineering student, it seems you really don't have much of a clue when designing a set up. I've never played this game so I don't know how the cars handle, but at the very least the terms you used were .... wrong lol. 07:39 - Stability and rotation do not go hand in hand, it is always a compromise, but basically the more stability you have, the less rotation you have. --Also, you changed a number of variables at once, with roll bars and suspension. NEVER EVER EVER EVER do this, then you have no idea what worked, didn't or why. You raised front wing and lowered front anti roll. Bad idea, you need extremely high anti roll to keep the aero platform stable for it to work. -- Raising front wing and keeping the rear the same gives you a car that is willing to turn in, essentially reducing understeer, so why you furthered this by increasing rear anti roll I have no idea, this is why you ended up with chronic oversteer instead. -- To be fair you raised the front suspension stiffness to accommodate the extra load the front would feel due to the higher aero. Knowingly or not, it was the right decision lol. -- Lowering the ballast should have been a better idea here, as you have already ruined the balance by doing the above points. 08:15 - You raised front aero and lowered rear???? Oversteer central. --You also lowered front anti roll which takes away understeer, but is also equivalent to adding oversteer????? --Also, lowering front anti roll in absolutely no way adds speed through the corner. It gives you a slower turn in, but better mid turn grio at the front. Mid turn grip at the rear was your problem. 09:00 - If you have stuff springs, you need soft anti roll, if you have stiff anti roll, you need soft springs, all about weight management. Having both extremely stiff means you have absolutely zero weight transfer, unless you have a very tall car, which is also never good. 09:40 - The car was at very high speed, so you needed more rear wing to accomodate for the oversteer. Slow speed handling problems occur due to mechanical faults, and high speed problems are aero set up faults. You kept going wide at Stowe, so either you are taking too much speed in, you are getting understeer or perhaps your gear ratio is too long, and needs to be shorter. Yes, gear ratio's do effect handling too. If you get oversteer on exit, consider raising the ratio more for top speed, or in your case, you are getting understeer, so shorten the ratio to help the engine work faster and push the car ever so slightly more to oversteering. Coming out of the village section, turns 2 - 4, consider lengthening the gear ratios for the same reason as above. You KEPT getting high speed oversteer in Maggots and Beckets, so you should have sacrificed some straight line for cornering by adding some rear wing. All that said, it was genuinely awesome watching you learn how to improve as you go along and congrats on the record dude, great video!!!
@@samuelmcdonagh1590 -- Ahh okay, not my intention. I'll try and change it somewhat, I just wanted to help him go a bit faster as Dynamics and set up are 2 of the engineering topics that I love most and study quite a bit in my own time.
Awesome lap JD since I have been watching you my lap times have improved by nearly 2 seconds just watching race lines, but I still have a long way to go I find I scrub to much speed off through the corners and most tracks I an still around 1 second a lap slower then I would like to be (about 1.5/2 seconds slower then you)
Please do Japan with 2019 i would love setup beacuse all setups i sliding like on ice 😅 and a setup guide what do what how the setup suppose to look beacuse u telling about stabilty and i have no idea how you get it

Matteo Bellandi they do sound fantastic but times have changed and people need to understand that.

V12Style the stuff you're saying makes you sound like a keyboard warrior as well soo
I think there should be an assist and non assist time trial. Dont believe they should be classed the same.
Sometimes assists can help and sometimes they hurt. It all depends how proficient you are with both
That would be good. I have also thought that it would be nice for different time trial lists for the classic cars. 2019 monaco, I'd love to see that
4:55 goes 4 wheels of the track “they got really really strict here”
Hey man, that was my record on the classic cars for Silverstone. I'd love to race you sometime in the classics!

Why trl needs to be removed from f1 2019 😂
Apart from that, you deserved the esports man 🔥
Mans got pace😳🔥. Nice one JD🤟
That.... was intense, my pin headed little friend. Good going, my eyes hurt from staring so much at your turn in points and throttle application 🤪
Go break every record

Amazing video loved this one Keep it up JD
Great Video, JD. Happy New Year!
Excellent lap mate 👏
Look at the Front Left wheel at 13:45, it became a slick tyre.
love this, hope you had a good hols, hope you have a good new year.

this a good series, so entertaining keep it up plz (australia next plz)
Why is every single sim racing video on youtube more popular than all the sim racing players of all the existing sim racing games combined together?

Im just curious how it will work
For me camera settings is important im faster with good camera but in red bull i got bad camera and no idea how to make it better
Why Britain should be removed from 2019

You need to do this in Austria with the F2004! (A good friend of mine is P2 (marinino) and i'm P3(rocketship).)
That Ferrari sounds so nice
Literally all of the corner exit sliding from 7:40 onwards was caused by the super firm rear ARB
God I love the F2004, such a fast and beautiful car. Next, why don't you try to get the world record in classic at Monaco or Singapore?
James try Baku

what about 3:09? The lap was invalided because a quarter if one wheel touched the grass.
Ferrari on the straights fam pause it. He has all four wheels off track n the white line?? Y’all must be tripping champ
Please do Monaco next!
