If you do a mosaic, is a must.

And the biggest advantage is that one channel doesn't completely wash out the other channels after the combine.

What about using linear fit when working on mosaics?

Quite honestly, I never did mosaics until now, so no clue.

@@viewintospace there seems to be a big gap in learning tutorials for mosaics (hint, hint) You have some great videos, I'm sure your mosaic tutorials will be appreciated! One of the fundamental challenges I am experiencing is getting each mosaic panel to match brightness and intensity. There is nothing worse than making a mosaic and then you realize you have to start again because after putting all the pieces together, you notice that upon inspection, one of the panels intensity/colour balance has a subtle variance from all the others. It stands out like a sore thumb. And so you have to go back and start again. And when your doing a 9 panel mosaic, thats a lot of wasted time!

@@malcolqwe2 Two thoughts of mine about this topic, of which as stated I have no clue about ;-) 1. I heard APP is really great in stitching mosaics together - right in the stacking phase! 2. I sometimes have the feeling it might be less painful to buy a wider telescope than making mosaics... Most likely the path I will go....

@@viewintospace 1, interesting, I've never used APP. Thanks for that. And 2. LOL don't go there you're spoiling our fun. There will always be meatheads like us that want to do it. The resolution of mosaics is amazing and completing one is rewarding.
