Just purchases one of these Ampeg amps. Needed a rehearsal amp that was easy to transport. You can easily carry with one hand. Plus you have that great Ampeg sound. Perfect combination for me. I play a Yamaha Broadbass 5 string. Did not realize that Yamaha had purchased Ampeg back in 2018. Guess that makes me a Yamaha man.
My final choice of bass combo came down to this & the Boss Katana 210. A battle between heart & head. My heart said Ampeg but my head said Boss & my head won. But......I genuinely love this thing. If as close as you can get with class D to that badass old school Ampeg delicous growl. This is IMHO the one that delivers. I think its the standout of the Rocket range in tone. That Eminence 15 is a Weapon!
Update. This is now my WMD Weapon of Mass Distortion! But......." Toto we are not in Kansas anymore" My 115 traded with the Katana 210 after 2 weeks @ no cost. Cheers to my long sufferng music store. Billy Hyde Music. LEGENDS! Anyway I'm an audio engineer so really REALLY fussy regarding tone. Stock for me the Ampeg was SO close but no cigar. 3 neodmyum backing slugs on the 15 more stuffing & infinitely variable extended port mods later all I can say is... £uck yeah! Woke up a sleeping Godzilla BEAST! Much more lively & responsive to your fingers on the frets. Relatively cleaner ( its an Ampeg!) when you need that. And on stacked fuzz and distortion.... WOW! It has a new name now I call her The......... Stank face eargasmotron accumulator Copyright all rights reserved!
I found the RB-112 to be just as "loud" (or louder) than the RB-115 upon trying them out. I wonder how much "louder" the RB-115 is with an extension cab?

Hello, has anybody tried the Aux function? I recently purchased an RB-115 and I didn't really like the sound of the aux input. I put on music and it sounds weird, but I'm not sure if it's because of the type of speaker that blurs the mid/high frecuencies... I want to know if it's malfuctioning or if it's the regular sound of the amp, thank you 😊
Given that it’s running through the 15” speaker, I think that it’s probably “all in order”, so to speak :/ Have you tried headphones? Do you experience the colouration there as well?

@@SkateEvan1 Sadly no! I used the BA115 though for years growing up, and it worked very well - and a dear friend of mine swears by the Rumble!

IMHO it’s less harsh and sounds more like a driven tube amp than a distortion pedal, if that makes any sense :)
