Nice playing. I have the RB-8 (30 watts, 8 inch speaker) and an Epiphone SG bass and they sound pretty good together. The RB-10" amp has more power but doesn't have the same punch as the RB-8
with the Epiphone. I play bass with a pick just out of habit because I'm a guitarist and like the sound. Just wish you could have turned up the treble more cause I like that twangy rock bass sound.

Do you think the RB-8 could be played alongside a drummer in a rock band and still be heard?

@@jcm9097 I have used it several times just with a drummer so far because I haven't got the whole band together, and it kept up just fine! As long as the band plays at a moderate volume and not cranked way up it will be ok. I played 12 bar blues and oldies like Born on the Bayou and I think it will be ok when I add a guitarist and keyboard player but that's all you can expect. So small venue and garage band should be ok. Naturally you get most of the volume before half of the dial and I didn't push it beyond that but it started sounding a little fuzzy so you start to get a Jack Bruce/Marshall sound, characteristic of Ampeg.

@@jcm9097 definitely not, I'd do at least the 12 if you are playing with a rock drummer. 15 or 210 would be better

Was thinking of picking up that exact one as a practice amp…
I’ve been playing over 40 years -I know the classic Ampeg tone very well… and I play a ‘65 P
What I’m getting at is ,…. Does that little Rocket series deliver (as best as it can) that “”Ampeg Characteristic??
Or is this just more marketing? What’s your take?

I own an RB115. Respectfully may I suggest sussing out why the recording sounds like a wet blanket over the tone.
Your playing is well good enough. But the recording is simply sub par and doesn't do these combos any justice.
And before you suggest its MY equip. My headphones are AKG Q 701's listening through customised bang & olufsen D/A's with custom discrete pure class A amplification impedance matched to the phones. & thats my budget el cheapo rig! ALWAYS @ the highest bitrate RUclips has on tap. My ears were recently tested & @ 57 my hearing still reaches 17K with near perfect matching response in BOTH ears. THAT is near miraculous for my age!. Also I build custom studio monitors
that have assisted artists & sound engineers get THAT sound 1 ARIA so far. So it aint MY ears either.
Step it up guys! I KNOW you can do it! 🤩
