Welp, it's 2020, and Bucket still hasn't changed. Where that dude was standing at 2:13, there are still crackheads and families of rats at the bus stop across the street, which is within 50 yards of Slater Mill, the police department, and city hall. This is the area they call "Downtown Pawtucket". Also that building complex that they were gonna build across the street from city hall (3:49), yeah that whole area is now half public parking (with a fee), and half police car parking. 5:34 that park area is in the deep hood. Drug dealers, gangs, etc. People get shot and killed around there often. We call that 'pain park'. 8:14 that's not even Pawucket that's Central Falls, which is worse than Pawtucket. 9:23 I bet that's a random tree on the side of some random sidewalk. There are no malls. There is no train station. The Blackstone River isn't even clean. 6:53 they did build the bridge though, and it glows at night, so that's nice.
This city turned out the way it did due to old boomer scum voting in politicians who "look like nice people to have a BBQ with oh and they have such nice smiles", then they had the gall to wonder why things kept getting worse, so they put their house on the market so some scumbag realtor could sell it to the most mentally ill neurotic ghetto trash they could find, meanwhile the boomer scum run off to Florida to reminisce about "the old days" with all the other boomer scum. "Rather than help improve where they are, people nationwide abandon hometowns, come down here, and shove their beliefs down everyone else's throats!" Florida in a nutshell.
It was stated in the video that they've been working for the past ten years to get rid of one-way streets. Ten years to try to eliminate one-way streets! A perfect illustration of why nothing will change there. Here it is six years after this video was made and nothing of any significance has been accomplished. The city has been trying to re-invent itself, with no luck, for the past fifty years. Now there's talk of the Paw Sox moving to Providence. Brilliant. Rhode Island is so anti-business (c'mon, you know it is...just look at where it stands with respect to the other 49 states) that poor Pawtucket ( known to locals as "The Bucket") doesn't stand a chance.
rarusll LOL, Blackstone is nasty! 1st time I saw Toman High while dropping off my son, where the waterfall is. That 4-foot fence? U know it? I was nervous to park there. I can't believe no student has been thrown over that unprotected area. Or, HAS someone fallen or jumped? The Water Fire is OK. Mall parking in Providence is also creepy. On 95 It's only a matter of time before you crash OR someone hits you. I was smashed from behind in the high-speed lane on 95 coming back from Warwick. We were coming to the curve headed North. Traffic came to a dead stop, IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE! Luckily all five of us were fine, the car not so much. A home invasion 4 houses down on my st was the last straw. What's funny is the dude from the home invasion got his ass kicked BY A WOMEN w/ her bare hands! ROFL! HE RAN!!!! LOL, yup the bucket.
you people should learn you're Pawtucket history did you know that a man named Buckland received a piece of property legally acquired by the Indians but the British didn't acknowledge it and it was part of Plymouth Plantation on the other side of the river was Providence Plantation now there was a brook that started new John Street it flowed along the railroad tracks into the graveyard and flowed into McCoy Stadium before it was swap and it continued into the trailer park River flowed through Prospect Heights went down Beverage Hill met up with School Street straight into the river now this man Buckland he lived where Agnes little school stands today now Buckland he didn't want to give up this 600 acres acquired from the Indians as it was on the Plymouth plantation side so now the British are shaking down boats headed toward Providence Plantation now John Brown he wanted to catch one of these guys catching a boats headed our way and seizing the cargo and if you wanted to dispute go to Boston and get your stuff back good luck so John Brown grounded the Gatsby has he knew the tides so they headed out to arrest the Admiral of the vessel by the sheriff from the county of Kent but Buckland didn't want to give up the property and he was one of the men on the boat as they were many boats that night Buckland said Efrain give me your gun I have a clear shot and he shot them and changed everything now we couldn't arrest him for we had just attacked a warship from Britain word was sent to John Adams That's history man the Gatsby Pawtucket Rhode Island the whole section the house with Agnes little now stands is what started a lot of trouble could have let up to the American Revolution because the house where Agnes little once stood
White American Do you think the downtown revitalization is possible? I like the MBTA idea, but what would they do about the high rise disability housing? Also, what could they fill the empty retail spaces with?
11 years later and the city is as bad as it's ever been. Addiction runs rampant as well as crime. 90% of downtown is boarded up and Tolman is arguably one of the worst high schools in the entire state.

How about they fix the poisonous liquid they call drinking water first

Pawtucket used to be beautiful. It's a complete dump now.
Broke no money to build anything else
Pawtucket is a mess.
Even more so now.
A great video about a great place!
