This is another one of those albums you need to own a physical copy of all the streaming stuff cuts the song for a second at the wrong time which is any song! Songs that bleed in to the other you need the album to truly appreciate it!one of the best of the 90’s I remember seeing it in hmv and thought I’d give it a try what a treat that awaited me when I got home and put it in the CD player Death was taking a similar direction at around the same time! Look at human and individual thought patterns!
I was at Wacken last year (2010) when they played this album straight, start to finish. No pauses between songs. I was hoping for a song or two off Wildhoney, but the entire album? That performance was heaven.
I can only imagine living this now...
They've been close to my heart for almost 10 years now.

It's so cool that the opening tracks segue together like a long composition. Uneven Structure - 'Februus' is another cool example of this.

you can almost never say that a certain band has a certain genre...even songs can't be categorized in only one genre...I agree that this is more doom but certainly has similarities to Gothic metal, and that is how a band "progresses" to lean towards a different genre

This is DEATH/DOOM METAL. Not everything that sounds dark is goth. After this, they progressed to a more goth music style.

Even if I understand your way of thinking, I really cannot agree with you. Bands I wrote you down are not some kind of "junkie sick irrational blackies". In fact, they're really different concepts apart of even themselves. Tiamat just does not play nor haven't played black metal in their entire career. Cheerfully, because it wouldn';t be the same amazing band we all cherish. But it has nothing to do with black metal... still kicking ass in a vein of "fanatism" you write about.

Black Metal? Have you lost your mind? Ever heard progressive black metal? Tiamat from "Wildhoney" has nothing to do with progressive black metal. Want some prog bm, check out Emperor, Vulture Industries, Klabautamann, Krallice, code, Ne Obliviscaris, Ekpyrosis... Each of these bands play their unique style, but can be described as progressive black metal. Tiamat cannot, sorry, mate. Wildhoney has nothing to do with black metal at all. :)
