That's pretty cool to see you & your wife working together like that. I can't get my wife to run the tractor & baler but, at least she'll help pick the bales up off of the field & put them in the barn. Stay safe.
Awesome videos - I just sold all of my NH hay equipment and traded in my TS6.110 and WM75 FEL for a T4.110 - After watching your awesome set-up, I may decide to get back into the hay business! Truly enjoy watching the videos - will send report on T4.110 once I get some hours on her!
Hey that's sounds great would love to here what you think of the T4. I've got some older videos on the T4.115 I used to have if you want to check them out.
Back when I drove a spreader truck, it was hilarious to get a noob into a skid steer. Bobcats were the choice around here. Loved to watch them dump the first bucket on top of the loader and in their laps. The first one I drove had no hydraulic transmission or motors. One guy said it was belt driven with no brakes. A balancing act when loading a truck on a slope. I went on the nose several times. Loved it though.
What a pleasure watching your videos. I sold almost everything I have in the world to have a chance to move to America just to be near that kind of life and your kind of people. My farms, my equipment, my birthright, and my heritage. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford to farm again, but I supply American farmers with tractor parts they can't get anywhere else, and I get a lot of satisfaction from that. Keep rolling, America!
It's nice to see people getting on and respect to your wife for baling, my misses is reluctant to drive tractors but helps me a lot with the animals ( sheep ) around the farm 👍
+onlygazza's fastrac farming. Well it's great that she will help you, I think tractors intimidate some women, I know the bigger the tractor is the more intimidated my wife is, but after she runs it a while she likes it.
Just subscribed--- like your video.... we farm too just not on as big as scale... you guys putting some hay away for sure.... hello from East Tennessee
Nice video's and a real nice hay operation. one of my next upgrades will be a tractor with a buddy seat so my wife or son can ride along. I hay solo, some company would be nice, but my M7040 doesn't have room in the cab to add a seat. Thanks for the videos.
Y'all do great together, made me smile watchin you. If she did 700+ bales that day, she did her half. And naming things? Can't help you except I usually wait and the dog cat or whatever usually names itself.
+Atoyota. Lol, I guess if it's going to name itself, we need to call it MIA (missing in action) since it missed the whole 2nd cutting season. I'm glad it's not the only tractor I have!
My wife and I make an annual trip to Kansas to see my two daughters, son in law and granddaughter. On the way there we pass many farms. My wife now calls round bales - Roly Polies.
Talking about your alfalfa field in one of your videos when I was growing up on the farm I worked for my neighbor. I remember about every 4 to 5 years he would plow up the field because it would quit producing hay. We were in North Texas area 60 miles north of Dallas. He had some great great hay but he had to moldboard it and reseed it. Just letting you know it does work.
Good video Dennis. You and your wife and dad had a very busy day but it sounds like everything went well and the day was very productive! On to the next day. I was raised up on a tobacco farm and Mother nature sure could get you way behind! But I wouldn't trade that experience for nothing in the world! You got yourself a good wife there!
That's great that your wife and dad are able to help out at this critical time with your hay harvest but the tough part is getting all those small square bales picked up in time and under cover before it gets wet! No doubt she can drive the bale trailer around the packs to make it quicker to pick up. Since your wife chose the name Thor, a Norse God, perhaps Odin being a similar Norse God might be appropriate or perhaps Hercules (a Greek god)?
+Dan Whiteford. Your right about getting those bales in! I got about 500 in that evening and did the rest the next morning by 11 so it wasn't to bad had to wait on the dew to dry off. When I don't have 50 acres down at a time I normally can start getting them out of the field while she is still baling, but I had these little fields to bale and she isn't comfortable driving that long rig in the small fields that's why I'm baling in the video and not her.
Yeah they make all different sizes of them, i like this size because they stack on a gooseneck easily without using a tie grabber. I can put 245 on a 24 foot gooseneck without touching a single one and send it down the road.
Does the accumulator behind the square baler stack the bales in groups of ? For your squeeze? Just curious. Here in my area most is for horses and picked up by hand. Great videos.
+Lee Brooks. Yes, it puts them in packs of 10, then you pick them up and stack them on the trailer with the grapple on the tractor. Then you can unload them in the barn with the same grapple, and reload them for a customer.
+Chuck Mayes. I commented on that to someone not long ago. But basically If your talking about the ones with the big wheels on them, I hate those things for what I'm doing, they rake to many roots and rocks and dirt into the hay. I got some complaints about that stuff being in my square bales. It also would clog up in heavy hay and you would have to spread the hay back out by hand. The rotary does so much better for my needs. Cleaner hay, better more even drying and never cares how heavy the hay is. Also the windrows are even and consistent no lumps or wadded up messes.
I would like to get your opinion as to the best 40-45 hp tractor (4x4) to use for brush hogging and dirt work with box blade and Front loader. I do a lot of brush cutting and clearing on my deer leases and need a strong tractor to get the job done without it breaking down too often. Have a 2525 Mahindra and it is simply a bit underpowered and has tendency to have mechanical problems. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. ---Jeff
+Jeff Prewitt. Jeff, I don't have a lot of experience with different brands of compact tractors, the ones we have are New Holland, TC40Da, and two TC55Da 's they all have been basically trouble free. The tc40 has 1400 hrs on it and both TC55's have around 800hrs There all over 10 years old. I know Deere, The dreaded Kubota in my case, and Massey all make good compact tractors. The best advise I can give you is find the best dealer in your area that is willing to bend over backwards to help you out and go with that brand. My personal opinion is stay away from the lower brands like Branson and Mahindra. If all the dealers are good drive all the tractors that interest you and pick the one you like best. There is no, one perfect brand or tractor for everyone.
Ya that is what I was talking about... makes sense though never thought about the trash it would put in your hay... only advantage they would cut your raking time in half... can't trade quantity for quality if your in the hay selling business though... thanks for replying
+Chuck Mayes. Actually it raked about the same speed as my rotary rake. My rotary is a double that folds up in the middle. It rakes 21 foot to 24 foot wide. You can adjust the width with the hydraulics on the tractor. My old V rake was about 20 foot. I also have a smaller Rotary rake that rakes 13 foot, I don't use it much anymore.
+Myron Parks. Yes, if my family hadn't help I would have been over my head. I might could have done it all but it would have been tough. If I had just been round baling everything like I used to back in the old day I could have done it by myself pretty easy.
DLH Farms There isn't a lot of hay where I live. All of it goes into big round bales. Nobody does small square bales any more because the kids today don't want to work.
+Myron Parks. Exactly, that's why I bought the Kuhns accumulator so I wouldn't have to rely on man power. I used to do only round bales but there's not enough profit to keep everything paid and working. For the same amount of hay that's in one round bale I can double my money by making square bales out of it.
I find all your vids very interesting, good material content and well edited. I love farming and heavy equipment and do not work at either professionally. Have learned some things as well. Thank You for the time effort and expense you are putting forth in making these vids. I would be very interested in knowing what equipment you use to film and produce your vids please. As a final thought... Your fortunate to have a wife with the willingness to help attitude that she has. Thank her and love her and never take her for granite because alot of men are not so fortunate. Spending time together and sharing something your both passionate about and enjoy doing it together is almost mandatory to having the best possible marriage in my opinion. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Thanks very much for the compliments! I am very thankful for my wife, especially after hearing the horror stories that some of my friends and co-workers tell on their wife's. I plan to make a video on how I make my videos and what equipment I use. But for now I will tell you all I use is a GoPro 4 silver and a good magnetic base I got from Amazon. I use Imovie to edit.
Have you ever had any issues with moisture on the bottom of the bales causing issues when you leave them overnight? I have an accumulator as well and I've never had the nerve to leave them out.
+starwardfarms. They will still feel a bit damp on the bottom but I wait until the dew is good and dry on top and then stack them. Never had any mold problem doing that, I think the dry hay on top absorbs the moisture and it balances out. Sometimes I don't have any choice but to leave them out when I bale so much in one day.
Good to know they always seems to be calling for rain next day anymore up here anyway! I've left straw several times but stubble holding it up where air can get in. I'm in NE Ohio about 10 mins east of where your accumulator was built.
+starwardfarms. Yeah that happens here a lot too about the rain. I will only put myself in the position where I have to leave them over night if the weather is supposed to be good. Do you have a Kuhns accumulator?
I have bought a 15 bale grapple and a couple 9x20 EZ-trail flat wagons from Mr Kuhns, but I actually have a pretty nice Hoelscher 1000 accumulator. I picked it up 3 years ago on AuctionTime out of Mississippi. It's been good for me but I would like to have a 1534 someday if budget allows.
+starwardfarms. I'm sure the Hoelscher is nice do you prefer that over the Kuhn or is that just what the budget worked with at the time since you would like to get the 1534.
wish I lived nearby because I'd love to help you guys out I did this stuff when I was a kid I learned how to drive tractors when I was 13 years old we had a dairy farm till it went under
+Skullfire 777 News, interesting things etc. That Happened to a lot of smaller dairy farms. I was raised on one also that is no longer here. That's why I like farming so much. Sounds like you feel the same way.
Enjoying your videos man, looks like you do a little of everything and do it well. On another note, I'll bet a neck ache is an occupational hazard in your line of work.
+Kerrin Bressant. I figure it at 20 square bales per 1 4x5 round bale so he did approximately 2000 squares in round form. I learned about how many was in the round bales by rebaling some rounds into squares.
Lol good catch! When driving I have trouble with it staying on my shoulder and it ends up laying on my arm and it irritates me so I just take that side off.
+Mark Barnhill. I filmed this on June 11th, I got my first cut done about two weeks ago. I done a 2nd cut on my alfalfa mix field about a week ago. I've got some 2nd cut Grass about ready! This year is flying by!
That's pretty cool to see you & your wife working together like that. I can't get my wife to run the tractor & baler but, at least she'll help pick the bales up off of the field & put them in the barn. Stay safe.
+crslyrn. Well, at least she will help you! It took some time for my wife to get comfortable with the tractor, but she does great now!
That's really cool! I had some baling time with my wife this first cut, and it was awesome. Nice to have the help!
+Denny's Country Life. Good deal, it's nice to have good support from your family!
A family that hay's together stays together
+AndersonCattleCo. Lol good one! We pray together too though!

Nice work, it's good you do it as a family.
+David Dahl. Can't wait till my son can help, that is if he wants to help.
The construction video of you at work digging the Church basement was great, awesome editing and commentary -Thanks for the videos-Oliver
+Oliver Froelich. Thanks for watching my channel Oliver!
That's a good women you got there nice to have your wife help.
+Long View Farm. I think she is a very good woman!
It's nice to see people getting on and respect to your wife for baling, my misses is reluctant to drive tractors but helps me a lot with the animals ( sheep ) around the farm 👍

+Chuck Mayes. Thanks for the sub, we're not that big either just 100 acre hay farm, no livestock.
Brother you have yourself a great lady, don't lose her.
Thanks, I don't plan on it.
great video, just found your channel recently...one of the best ones around!
+Vincent Johnston. Wow! Thanks for the kind words! Glad you like my channel!
Nice video's and a real nice hay operation. one of my next upgrades will be a tractor with a buddy seat so my wife or son can ride along. I hay solo, some company would be nice, but my M7040 doesn't have room in the cab to add a seat. Thanks for the videos.
+Alan Greene. The seat is definitely nice. It's not to good for a big man like me, but that's what the operators seat is for! Lol
Well done!! I enjoy your videos when I get a chance to watch them!
+Landmark cattle. Thanks I'm glad you take the time to watch!

Great to see your woman take a interest in the production of your work.
surprised to see how the plunger makes you rock and roll in the cab.
+canvids1. Thanks! Yeah that's the cab suspension moving up and down a little from the jolt of the plunger.
Awesome family effort, thanks
That's nice your wife helping, When I was farming my wife drove sprayer and she liked it all air-conditioning.
Lol my wife like air conditioning too.
Good video Dennis. You and your wife and dad had a very busy day but it sounds like everything went well and the day was very productive! On to the next day. a man can never have too many tractors
+John Goodwin. Amen to that 👍
looks like the T5 is mommas tractor now she just letting you use it.keep up the great video's
+Kenny Mysak. Lol yeah she likes it pretty good!
Thats the same kind of acumalater we have but our shute is twisted so it sets the bales on edge and we can collect 15 bales at a time
Yeah they make all different sizes of them, i like this size because they stack on a gooseneck easily without using a tie grabber. I can put 245 on a 24 foot gooseneck without touching a single one and send it down the road.
"And I'm eatin lunch" busted out laughing
Haha
Thanks for the video.
Nice teamwork.
+Chuck Stevenson. Thanks Chuck!
it's great to have a partner that is involved. I'm that lucky as well!
+DLK HAY. She likes to run that square baler!
Im new to the channel but i have to say that you have it very well set up. Keep up the great work. Stay safe. Tell the wife she did a good job
+Dano Kerr. Thanks Dano! I'll tell her! She's a good help mate.
Good to see you guys out together having fun. For a name suggestion, how about "T5 Clive" ?
+Nick Blakehill. T5 Clive! Lol I kinda like that!
Go team!! Git er done!!

Was gona ask do you guys use a V rake ? If you do what do you think about it ? Kinda new to our area

It's unique.

+james hunlwy. Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Enjoying your videos man, looks like you do a little of everything and do it well. On another note, I'll bet a neck ache is an occupational hazard in your line of work.
My neck probably gives me more trouble than anything from looking back all the time. Glad your enjoying the videos!
ur hilarious, next time i come to kernersville i might try to come up and meet u
+top hauler. Sounds good!
I heard you mention your dad did over 100 round bales of hay. So how many square bales equals one big 4x5 round bale?
+Kerrin Bressant. I figure it at 20 square bales per 1 4x5 round bale so he did approximately 2000 squares in round form. I learned about how many was in the round bales by rebaling some rounds into squares.
Wow. Those Round bales are monstrosities! Thanks for the info!
+Kerrin Bressant. They are just packed really tight.
hello from Greece....what kind of grass is this??
Hello Never Seen You're Channel Before - Will Watch a Few

DLH Farms nothing wrong with that!
How bout Johnny. As in Johnny 5 is alive.
+Michael Potts. Lol!
Hi, do u sell ur hay or is it for ur own use? Keep up the vids there great :)
+Davy 88. I sell all of it, I don't have any live stock. I just like to focus on the hay.
I would be glad to help, what state you’re in ?
+Ernesto Diaz. I'm in VA, not much hay growing here now. Lol
can you put a square bale in a round baler
+Gene Murphy. You can if you take the strings off of it first, but then is would become a round bale.
I have loaded hay by hand rode a trailer behind the bailer used a bale grapple a bail fork and a grapple hook and loader.
Yep I have done all that too. This is the best way I've found to do it for my size operation and the type of land I'm working with.
Do you cut your own hay? I don't see many videos of you mowing hay.
+Indiana Row Crop. I do cut all my own hay.
the wife is good looking and she helps do the work. you got a winner there
+GSPISGOD. Thanks! Glad we have the same opinion!
got any farm animals like cows or pigs or do you sell the hay you make
+Jeremy Waugh. Im just a hay producer. My wife's dad has several cows though.
Nice woman you got there, a couple enjoying the farm life together. nothing else like it.

+Howard Younger. My wife wasn't allowed to bale, her and her sisters stacked wagons for thier dad. They all played sports and are strong as heck. Lol
that is good some one to keep you in line lol. that is cool she can do it now looks like she likes to help. now you owe her.
+Howard Younger. She like to square bales now! She is always telling me I owe her! Lol I tell her to put it on my tab.
A nice dinner some flowers that kept my wife happy.let me clarify that you have to take her to dinner and give her flowers LOL.
+Howard Younger. Lol! That's what it takes!

+David Gaylord. They're about 60 pounds.
Where's your other Suspender strap at because you're wearing one......
Lol good catch! When driving I have trouble with it staying on my shoulder and it ends up laying on my arm and it irritates me so I just take that side off.
Nice!!
I’d give anything to be able to bale hay with my dad and father in law again.
Name “T5 Clyde” lol
+PhatboyHD88. Lol 👍
You guys make a great team.👍
