    A song written by one of their own, inspired by esprit de corps of his fellow Marines singing their hymn, adopted as their official march, and played with pride and precision every single time. Semper Fidelis is not just their motto, it is their creed, their way of life from the day they earn the globe and anchor to the day they die. The pride and legacy of the US Marine Corps is something deserving of great admiration and respect. No matter where my father was in his life he was always proud to be a Marine, and he always stood up for his fellow Marines if they needed a brother.

      John Wills cause NBC are duds

    • @Dustyholes
      @Dustyholes 4 года назад +7

      John Wills because it’s too good for recruitment. There’s something special about the Marines Hymn, part of it being the oldest recorded song in our military’s history and the other part is that it just sounds so amazing. You can feel the electric liberty coursing through your body when you hear it and if leftist propaganda outlets like NBC actually show it, it will turn a lot of their viewers against them and their agenda. So they censor it, and they censor the meaning behind it as well. “From the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli” thats not just a lyric there’s meaning behind it! Along with, “if the Army and the Navy ever look on heavens scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines.” If a young man like myself or a woman starving for purpose and discipline in life hears something like that they’ll gravitate towards it naturally and be thankful because of it; regardless of how grueling and torturous it is and regardless of how long the contract is. So the only thing they can do is censor it.

    We used to practice the week before on the flight line at El Toro. (Gone now) At the beginning of the week there would be F-16's doing flight ops on the strip next to us. Loud as hell. By the end of the week we would be marching and playing on one side then turn around and contiue back to see jets taking off. But we no longer heard them. But I guarantee those young Lt's heard every note of the Marines Hymn!! We weren't playing any louder. At the beginning of the week it is such an open space, that you naturally TRY to play louder. But you end up playing out of tune. Once that is corrected by the end of the week, you easily outplay the jet engines. My first year the Marine Band was NOT the first unit. That changed after Desert Storm as 2 of the 4 bands (including mine) deployed. But that first year the 330 playing member band of Michigan St. was about 1/4 mile ahead of us in the parade. The very first part of the parade is where all the stands and TV cameras are because they want to film all the units go by when they are fresh. So after we got to see the tape after, (yes, it was literally still tape then) and we watched it to critique what we did, we watched the Michigan St. Band go by but all you could hear was The Marine's Hymn. Such a patriotic lot those youngsters were !! Typically we would field about 120 out of 4 50 piece units. This band here is 88. Considerably less. Yet they did a good job.
