A boomer in my local news FB post said people were “expecting too much” and “in the Great Depression people would have been grateful for this” like if you’re comparing it to the GREAT DEPRESSION you’ve found the point and immediately lost it

I think the unknown is salvagable in concept. Naturally, I agree this particular execution was not good. However, there has been weird stuff in Willy Wonka media. It could be the representation of all the kids getting picked off, spooky tunnels with chickens getting their heads cut off, the rival spies trying to ruin the factory, etc. The unknown could be the ill omen that happens just before that spooky stuff occurs, so that children could mentally prepare for when the show is about to get real.

@@CHESShireCatTim Burton reading this comment, like “FUCK! Why didn’t I see that?” 😂

Well, chatgpt simply deals with probabilistic models of volumes and volumes of words to determine the next best word to use after each subsequent word based on the prompt given. For example, if I were to write a prompt that was just "to be" it would most likely respond next with 'or not to be' and depending on how many tokens (word segments) I told it to use, it would continue writing more words after that in a probabilistic manner.
It's not actually deciding anything. It can't think. It's not true artificial intelligence as in having self awareness.

I got a bit of insider knowledge from my Glaswegian friend (in his own words): 1. The company booked a hell of a lot of high end props, sets in fact. Then didn't pay. Some genius thought "that's ok, we'll pay them from the profits" without actually talking to the prop company. The prop company, (still awaiting payment) did not send anything. This left the staff three days to frantically build Something. This also gave them no time to rehearse. 2. There was meant to be a sponsorship with a local artisan chocolate company, who went bust almost two months before the show opened. Somehow that went unnoticed. 3. Likewise a deal with Barr's for soft drinks fell through after the manager of the event's company was insulting to Barr's.
So call it off.
Just call it off.

There’s something very heartwarming about this, which shows a perfect contrast to relying heavily on ai generated products that are being described as “the future of art.” And yet the event failed horribly and the thing we liked the most was the actors, the humans, playing a character. The AI may have come up with the unknown, but the costume and person behind it having to be creepy and scary in the videos, hiding behind a mirror was what was funny to us.
That's the only good thing that came out of this event, that it serves as a perfect argument against AI dependence
Not saying yay or nay for AI but probably the low level AI basic chat GPT and DALL-E 2 maybe that was used was also getting prompts from the “genius” of a low level scammer. Even AI couldn’t make up for that lack of brain power.
AI can give you fun ideas, but without a human involved 99 times out of 100 it'll either end up bland, confusing, or just unfinished.
HEARTWARMING?! Um, Danny's comical take must be clouding your vision. AI art is the bait that tricked families to come out expecting a whimsical adventure- like they saw in the extravagantly illustrated promos. Splurging on expensive tickets to an immersive fantasy land, only to stumble into a stark warehouse alongside other parents realizing they'd been robbed is awful. Worse, their children were unaware and excited, then confused and scared by the menacing "attractions" the thoughtless scammers tried to pass off as legit. It was disastrous enough to involve the police for chrissake! Anything that riddled with absurd miscalculations is easy to laugh at- to fail so thoroughly takes exceptional incompetence. But realize your perspective has been informed by narration with humorous hindsight. This is mostly a tragedy, a disturbing, scary truth and cautionary warning to heed than anything else if we're really being honest.
Bs. Because u can advertise on ANY way falsely. Even if it were posters created by an artist the hall would be empty af. This has NOTHING to do with AI but with the people creating the event being just foney af. Period

To be honest this looked more like a chocolate meth experiment disguised as a willy wonka experience
Walter white filled in the role for Wonka 😭
Have you ever seen the movie Willy Wonka? The original is basically like a meth experiment
ive been watching for years now but im just now realizing i never subscribed!! i just subscribed that time and turned on notifications for your main and 2 danny 2 furious! i absolutely adore your content danny i hope you’re still making videos for years to come💗
Great video! I already thought the story was funny to follow, but now it got even better by Danny explaining the whole thing.
As a scare actress who cackles like a maniac after having terrified people during haunts, I feel for the actor playing the unknown, because when a child enters a haunt, they and the parents know what they’re getting into, so when you enter an event that’s supposed to be magical and wholesome, you don’t expect your child to be absolutely traumatized by something that wasn’t even in the original story
It was a 16 y/o girl apparently. Her first gig. Honestly I think 16 is the perfect age to realize it was a mess in retrospect but not feel a ton of guilt over it. She was there to be weird and creepy and she did well, without (from what we saw) going over the top. Creepy, but creepy from a distance and without lunging 😅
Yeah what were they thinking? The kid's scared little "no" was so sad :/
look, I get what you're saying, and you make a valid point, but like, are you just forgetting being randomly traumatized out of absolutely nowhere while looking for a family friendly experience of chocolate and fun is the canonical description of Willy Wonka?
Slavery, body-horror, the fires of hell burning as you ride a boat down a dark tunnel with a mysterious man you've never met before displaying ever-increasing symptoms of severe mental illness - honestly if there *_wasn't_* some random and completely unexpected child kidnapping demon chocolate maker that would probably be the weirder reality.
The old testament puts the fear of god in you, but Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory puts the fear of chocolate in you.
@@robonator2945 I'm not OP but I get you. Counterpoint though, the kids in Willy Wonka that get traumatized do something to bring that on. Demanding things out of entitlement is the cause for most of them. You could argue the punishments are severe for a kid for sure, but the point is they screw around and find out. No one is terrorizing them at the literal *entrance.* They're also older than the mostly toddlers you see in every video of this event, but it's not like the organizers set an age suggestion so that's less relevant from your POV.
Have you ever been punched by someone you scared?
3:50 Fun Fact, this isn't Willy Wonka. He's "Willy McDuff" to avoid being sued, despite the Oompa Loompas being called "Wonkiloopas", obviously derived from Wonka.
The Wonkidoodles, actually, which is even worse
Man, I don’t wanna know what the future will be like in 2030 😭😭😭😭💀💀💀💀

Whatever his name is, his delivery of "WHAT IS THAT" is perfect 😂😂
@@DomMazz the IMMEDIATE cries of a child after he said that was insanely funny
This looks like the nightmares I had as a kid the night before I went to an event where the event was so disappointing it would literally make me cry
House of illuminati? Bro everything is a fkn ritual now
I urge yall to look at the other images of the "high" oompa loompa bc she genuinely seemed like she wanted to try her best to give the kids the best experience possible given the circumstances. theyre honestly really sweet/cute photos
Where do u find the picssss
Yeah, I saw one where they were smiling and seemingly being perfectly lovely to a kid. The most well-known picture was apparently taken once the candy had run out or something similar, and they were just done with the poor organization that was going to upset children.
yesss kirsty seems so lovely :(
@@Chiefkeefer78 She did an interview with the BBC and looks like an above average attractive woman in real life, not that it should matter, but various nutcases have been calling her ugly. Based on a photo of her dressed as an umpa lumpa...
Nah, I only want to remember that one image. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂
I headcanon that the Unknown is actually a demon from hell who manipulated the ai to manifest him into the script. The actor is not there, the actor is fucking possessed.
The SCP are coming to our realm

1:43 I couldn’t have explained it better myself😭.
This man is hilarious😂.
I'm reminded of my last experience with the San Francisco Flower and Garden show (unironically has never been in San Francisco in the years I've gone). It's one of those vendor type events where they got people selling everything from dwarf trees, to seeds, to fancy branch pruners, they'd have various speakers throughout the day telling you tips on how to gardening stuff to keeping chickens in your backyard (i.e. everything you can just see on youtube these days), everything you'd expect in a show like this but the pièce de résistance was the actual gardens that they'd set up, where there would be a dozen or more different gardens that were setup to give you a feel of "wow, this is cool" some where artistic in flavor, some were functional, and some where just relaxing as all hell such that you would love to have that and just relax in all day.
Well one year the major sponsor, a dirt/rock company (Lings0 if memory serves) had supply issues, and they did not have any soil, stones, or anything to deliver. Now this was a huge deal, because quite literally ALL the gardens were built from this material that they deliver, so as a result there were zero gardens at all. The absolute sole reason for coming to this event, and paying to see it, was these gardens and there weren't any. Now you'd think they'd alert everyone who pre-bought tickets and say "hey the shows kind of cancelled since the main event isn't here, here's your money back" or some mention on their webpage, but no. Luckily I did not pre-order tickets, because you save like $2 but then get hit with a $1.99 convenience fee (per ticket) so why bother. We get there, the ticket booth tells us about it all, says "sorry there's no gardens" but WTH, we already paid the non-refundable $15 parking fee, so what's another $40 or so... how bad could it be, oh yeah they still had it for the same full price that it was, with no discounts. I mean what the hell how bad could it be... well as it turned out like 90% of the vendors didn't even show up either because why bother, there were zero speakers going on ... and about the extent of what we did was to do an art project with my 2 year old at the time, and I was completely focused in "Dad mode" to make sure he had a good time in some way. JFC, it was a train wreck and they didn't even offer a refund because "we were warned" ... we were told there was no gardens, not that 90% of the show wasn't there.
It was overall so horrible, and I felt so pissed from it I never went back... and this experience looks way worse!
11:07 Danny, the apology itself is AI-generated. Everything here is AI. The organizer of the event might _actually_ be AI
He's definitely a real person, but not a creative one. His only previous works are a series of poorly-reviewed books from last year, all written using AI. Clearly he cares so little that he couldn't even be bothered to apologise.
The organizer is the Unknown
@@JRS06 I think it's funnier to think he's a rogue AI.
In advertising they called it an “unforgettable experience”.. They weren’t wrong
honestly gotta say this is THE BEST dannys hair has looked love this new style
"I'm really shocked that the event had fallen short of the expectations of people on paper."
That is SUCH an AI generated line. This bastard used AI to write his APOLOGY as well.
It was so..obvious..
The way it's worded makes it sound as though it was the expectations of people on paper, as in a drawing. I think he meant that the event should've worked on paper, but since the guy in charge was so lazy he couldn't even be bothered to generate a proper apology.

a perfect video to watch while stoned out of my mind! the unknown will be following me into my dreams tonight!!!!
this situation put glasgow on the map
TMZ talked to the actor who played wonka, he said none of them got paid(surprise surprise) which helps explain the Oompa Loompa’s expression. Also one jellybean and a quarter cup of lemonade? I get they were pulling a scam here but they could have gotten a shit ton of broken chocolate bars from bulk barn for 50 bucks. Then maybe the cops wouldn’t have been called. Seriously though I really hope the “unknown” becomes the most popular Halloween costume this year.
Wtf is bulk barn, I don't think we have that here lol. They definitely could have got heaps of cheap choc tho.
I would actually be really excited if I saw someone dressed as the unknown this year
They got paid in the satisfaction of a job well done.
User-T,
This event was set in Glasgow Scotland.
If u didn’t gather by any of the actors accents or what have ya.
We don’t have “bulk barns” in the uk and wholesale broken chocolate is hard to come by.
@@AuroraTVUK I dunno about chocolate but I live in the UK and me and my parents buy bulk broken biscuits all the time they're really cheap
the image of the Oompa Loompa is INSANE like she is fr cooking crack
Honestly I feel like meth lab Oompa Loompa needs a fan name, she's great.
Also I kind of actually think a comedy show premise involving meth Oompa Loompa and the Unknown could be hilarious. Imagine them being the protagonists of an animated dark comedy where Unknown is a delightfully creepy character a la Beetlejuice and meth Oompa Loompa is his more serious friend who's just done with everything.
