No problem we also speak english so no need to try to learn this hard language. We are small country and all we need to addopt to speak the common language which is english. But anyway im proud of you to be one of milion which try to understand our language and even post it.

I’ve tried to find cut off time for dobro jutro. Every time I would go int store I’d say that and response was always dober dan.. seems a lot of Slovenes use dobro jutro only EARLY. Morning .. thanks. I will study some of these are new for me !!! Hvala !!! More prosim

I would say that between 8-9 would be cut off time for dobro jutro. If you say later majority of Slovene would think that you just woke up or in other words that you are lazy person that sleep whole day :P

jeff saviola depends on when you get up.. people who get up very early say it to 8am or so (in stores). Then they switch to dober dan. If i, lets say, wake up at 10am, i would say dobro jutro to the person i see first after i wake up, then i say dober dan to anyone else. If you say dobro jutro, it means you just woke up, and if you say dober dan,it means you've been up for some time already. Its hard to explain :P

back2black actually that explains well !!! I just try to say the few things I know in Slovene .. as often as possible ... hvala !!!

jeff saviola yeah, and you can also say these phrases without 'dobro'... so you say only 'jutro' , 'dan' and 'noč'.. its more casual

its not moi its moj and we not use dobro noč cause sounds weird also lahko noč its correct but a translate on english is easy "lahko" have more means in slovenia: lahko greš ti - u "can" go ; or ; to je lahko- this is "easy"
And we use it on good night also means lahko noč...things only slovenian people understand i think ;)
