- This is it - the final stretch of the build. By the next episode, both the Mazda RX-7 and the Chevy S10 will have to hold together enough to do dyno pulls, practice runs, and of course the final 1/4 mile battle runs. But as usual... firing up a fresh LS and rotary build for the first time ever doesn't always go as smoothly as one would hope....

@@snafu_vfx $5000 would definitely be a challenge to make a rally car, i think it would be cool to see them buy old beat up FWD cars and really be careful with their spending; like having to modify stock suspension parts with Cameraman Kyle's plasmacut parts and stuff and cheap ebay turbos and stuff

Sorry but this was not a budget build.....they each cheated "fairly"and without connections Wich they both have it would never be possible.
I think with time anyone could source a similar build. Your average weekend warrior isn't going to pump out a drag car in 1/2 a month.
Budget builds are fun. A simple 5.3l, turbo and 4L80E always works well. Usually between a $3000 to $6000 build for someone with no connections, depending on the car you start with. But going above a simple budget Slayer usually sucks, always working out kinks and fixing broke shit with almost zero time driving. We have more fun with our 550hp-650hp shit than we do the fully built 1400hp no prep car
10 grand will get you a 10 second car. But you need the know how to build and fabricate everything done by these guys or it gets a bit more expensive.

He probably wanted some length to the exhaust for a little backpressure and so the 02 sensors read better

Honestly Brad’s truck is the most likely to be built by someone in their garage. Vargas used a lot of connections in his build to get parts that were way more expensive than what they paid for them. Need to have someone there when they buy used parts do an accurate appraisal on how much they’re actually worth.
All parts that were purchased / sold were at a fair market value. The Rx7 market has a much larger demand than the clapped out S10 market.
They’re both over budget anyway. They’re building some cool stuff. They’ll be penalized when it comes to judging.
Brad used an assembled, running motor. Vargas boys bought a car that made them like 2g off the bat and only had to buy oem parts to build it. Crazy how the car they bought nearly paid for their build motor.

Absolutely! Despite what those Vargas lovin hoonigans say, which may I add have a vested interest in this seeming as close as possible, no one could build that rx7 for what they're claiming it "actually cost"
The average joe or even average shop would have a helluva time making that car for under $15,000. I'm not saying it's impossible but sub $12,500 is pretty damn close to impossible.
For shits and giggles they should take both of those cars, pretending to be average joes to various shops out of the blue and get quotes on how much it would cost them to build an identical car. Full build specs.
Then tell them to do it for 9.5gs and watch em laugh
They should have left the budget alone. That broke these builds right out the gate.

I like the idea of having the build and battle cars be built for actual events. Would be way less bias judging. And content could be better with more competition involved.

I could see them on the same team and that makes this build and battle the best.
I love how after the weigh in, Brad starts frantically chopping things out of the S10.
At that very moment Brad found out he's going to be driving one THICCC Hot Rod.
Someone mentioned Mike and Brad having a show/project together, that would be great. Them too have good chemistry and it'd be fun to watch them talk and build together.

@@cainadkins3985 my idea was that they are both really good engine builders. They both build awesome cars and both have drag roots. We are now having a drag b&b and we had an off-road build. Papadakis build a super competitive drift car so he would be in an advantage. With building a boat they both would be like a fish out of water and that would make for an even playing field.
But a plane would also be cool.

Brads comment about driver skill reminded me of Cletus. He has a really valid point. No offense to cooper at all but you put Cletus in any car Cooper drives and he would run a faster time. He’s just a more experienced better drag car driver. So this race could absolutely come down to a driver skill Win.

I dropped my damn phone when Brad tries to hand Hert five bucks and Hert goes: "Five dollars!?" Reminds me of back in the day when we raced gopeds and my boys always hounded me for my +110 mixed with redline 2 stroke, Hoonigan keeps bringing back memories, keep up the great work!!!

That kind of alignment just blows my mind, I just cant wrap my head around how they can get it in spec. But the hunter hawk eye machine that I use which shoots infrared light that hits targets that clamp to the wheel and reflect it back to the camera that is 5 ft in front of the car makes perfect sense to me. Lol
