We decided to follow the trail to the top of mount Calayo (musuan) in bukidnon mindanao for a mornings expedition followed by an English breakfast and a balut egg which I have never tried.
you seem to be nice and relaxed over there, It looks brilliant, Your motoring vids saved a lot of people a lot of money with a bit of a laugh on the way, You've worked hard and you deserve what your doing now well done to you, carry on with the videos really enjoying them many thanks
Hi Alan mind your self down there i watch a lot of your videos you are a very good skilled mechanic what a eye opener its for sure a third world country down there
Balut ( fertilized Duck egg) is eaten throughout South East Asia, not just Philippines. Normally it's bought hot from ambulant street hawkers who carry them in insulated baskets or lately Styrofoam boxes. The yolk and chick Taste similar to normal boiled duck egg, except it has a broth ( juice ) that taste like a clear umami broth. I would liken it to the broth in Japan tofu casserole soup named - ChawanMushi. I average 6 baluts yearly the past 60 years ! But just recently tried freshly home cooked Balut. And there is a noticeable improvement over the hours old Balut. Freshness and eaten immediately after boiling / simmering matters. I throw away the white stone, Albumen. I prefer the 17-day-old Balut It's best slowly simmered for 40 minutes in a pot of water, then immediately eaten piping hot with some salt for the broth and the Balut. There are dishes like Adobo Balut, and Sisig Balut. But I still prefer eating it freshly cooked and piping hot !😢
I can honestly say, after talking to a Filipino work colleague who likes these, seeing photos and watching Alan eat one, I never will eat one 😆Great Vlog but those eggs aint for me , respect👊
Magandang umaga Alan, would you recomend balut ? Lol I bet you won't be ticking that box again and won't be wearing that t shirt ever lol. Any way enjoy mate!!
