You know, a big fish in a small pond can go both ways. The person can relax, knowing he’s the best among his peers and then fail miserably when faced against the best in his field, because he has chosen to live in a competence illusion. You don’t want to run sprints with 4 year olds, you want to go against the best, learn their ways of operating and alter them to fit your own unique inclinations. I do agree that competing against corporations through processes not feasible to them or in markets too small for their capital is a winning strategy.
I see what you mean but you also have to see it in this way: Goliath knew who he was going against and was not ignorant to the fact that he could be easily outclassed in a normal fight. A big fish in a small pond means that you should figure out your advantages that would make you succeed against your equally competitive peers. If you are an auditive person and study for an exam, make sure to read out loud the summaries and play it at night before you sleep. That’s how you save time and get potentially better results as if you would use the same copy paste method as everyone else.
Lesson learnt - Be a big fish in a small pond. Grow optimally and then beat the big fish in big pond with the skill and confidence gained in a small pond.
To the *incredible person* seeing this, I wish you all the best in life❤ don't over blame yourself, accept things and go forward. Don't let others define what “success” is for you. Get up, learn the skills needed and get after it, all the keys to a happy life is in your hands. Keep pushing.
This is in interesting one. Sometimes I watch your vids and then leave to get the book. This one made me believe that I absolutely do not need to read the book. This feels like a book that could have been a blog post.
So basically, Find a loophole in the rule book or the way the game is played by the opponents. hone your performance of using that loophole by going against small fish first. then slowly keep building your strength in that niche and then win. But to find that loophole...that's what requires keen attention to detail. You need data, that might not be easily available Or personnel who have that knowledge.
David and Goliath along with Blink Outliers Talk to Strangers The Courage to be Disliked in face everything that Malcolm Gladwell writes is on my important read many times list.
I read that David actually ran towards Goliath to get into killing range and no one had ever ran towards him in a fight before and at this moment of shock - David fired first.
Very clearly explained a complete book in just 8 min. Would like to read a real book to solidify the understanding. I wonder if a school text books can also be interpreted in a video, highlighting only the insights and summary.
From my perspective living in a small developing country and having worked three years as an external HR recruiter for many multi international companies. The university is all branding and little care given to how many research or papers published in academia. There’s a bias against graduates from lower ranking universities.
My husband bought this for my son at the time they weren’t speaking. He bought him this for Christmas as a gift. My son says it still makes him angry just thinking about it. I can’t help but think my husband is a huge narcissist and this seems super passive aggressive any thoughts ? What kind of father doesn’t speak to his 15 year old son and buys him this book ?
Hi, I have recently joined an institute for a foreign language degree I'm fine with everything there but one of my professor thinks I'm just fooling around not serious enough to pursue a degree and he keeps on picking at me during the class,I just feel like ....I'll Quit😭😭. I am not able understand his problem with me.what should I do? Do you have any solutions?
Wait a second, my friend, the University of Toronto is a great university. How on earth did you come to that choice of comparison? That is fallacious. University of Toronto is ranked as a top university and is number one in Canada. I take offense at that example. Use Ryerson or Guelph.
@@elenif.vlachou9126 I completely agree with you. Anyway, we can study the method, but the most important point is WHY David was so courageous. Let's start with why not to miss something remarkable in the strategy. David's Psalm 27 tells more on this. 🙂
Trading with an expert is the best strategy after watching so many videos about trading I was still making losses until Margaret started managing my investments for me
