Mr. Biver is still in love with horology, you can plainly hear it in his voice and see the excitement in his face...it is very infectious. Such absolutely beautiful designs, true high horology at its finest. Thank you for bringing this great man to us in this video Adam.😊
I like JCB, and wish him success with the brand; he's likable and charismatic. But I don't understand who these watches are for. For that price I really expect to see a strong design identity (e.g. Berneron, Simon Brette, FP Journe Chronometre Bleu are in or under that price range) and I just see a generic dress dial and case with a nicely finished movement.
The first Biver release was an all you can eat buffet that looked all over the place, without an identity. This one is nice, more focused and elaborated.
Adam, you are digressing from the main point and why are you defending Biver watches? Are you being paid by them or have they promised you that they will deliver tons of their cheese? The issue that we collectively have is the PRICE. If this was priced at sub USD$2k for a time only watch, nobody would give a fck. But this was priced wayyyy higher. I wonder why JCB has agreed to this kind of pricing in the first place. You quoted Marvel-inspired APs in one of your comments, I strongly believe that the said APs are more worthy of the price bracket and they are wayyyy more fun than this time only watch. C’mon Adam. You don’t have to upload this video to get more subs. This is a degrading video given your stature and vast knowledge in vintage timepieces.
somehow I do not get it why this model is so thick with what's inside. The case has nearly something baroque to it, despite all the inner qualities or materialwise
No doubt JCB is a legend, but he should retire and finish his career at a high. Pierre is a nice guy, but at the end is simply a nepo baby with this project. JCB should enjoy life, he has enough money left over for his kids to live on, why do this now? A time only watch with a new brand at this price range, at this market, in this state of global economy is just a bit too out of touch.
Imagine telling a guy to give up his passions because he "has enough money". These are the years of life when you should do exactly what you want. He wants to make watches.
I understand your point, but I disagree with it from a fundamental standpoint. So because someone has a successful parent, they shouldn’t even try? Having spent a good amount of time with them now, they are both very passionate and care about what they are doing - not just making money. If you listened to the video, Pierre is refreshingly honest and humble about their money and its ability to springboard the venture. We need more guys like him in this industry - making thoughtful, interesting watches, and listening to and engaging with their customers. There are too many marvel comic watches that people spend way more money on, and IMHO, have way less value.
@@simontvrner I guess you are right, but most of us are just seeing him trying to set up Pierre (very admirable), but he doesn't look too well unfortunately.
@@mentawatches I am not saying he shouldn't try, I just think he should find his own path. If you read up his bio he's been drifting a bit since he quit business school. Maybe he should keep dealing with vintage watches with his mate, although the market had gone down a bit. I still remembered seeing him at the Rake summer party before covid. He just looks so uncomfortable standing by himself in the corner, my mate knows him and he's a nice guy. But I just don't think whatever he's doing with his dad it doesn't seem natural. If he has a personality and charisma like Wei Koh I wouldn't had said what I had.
I think he’s certainly found his path, and after hearing him talk about this new watch, and plans for the future, it seems he’s found his calling. Not everyone likes to be a social butterfly like Wei Koh, and is super comfortable in their own skin in any situation. Stuff like that sometimes also takes time. I think he’s a really good dude and doing a fantastic job so far, and wish him and the company all the best. They are certainly taking a line that most don’t, and while it’s very much a business, it doesn’t appear that money is the prime motivator.
Adam, you’re digressing. how much are they paying you for this? Your channel should cover vintage watches only as that’s your main expertise. Don’t cover these exorbitantly priced time only watch. At least the marvel AP watches looks wayyyyyy more fun that these zombie-looking watches, and I hate those Marvel-themed AP watches to the core. Biver watches look like a sub 2k price range watch and I’m being generous
Wow. 1) they paid me nothing, I wanted to do this. 2) I cover what I am passionate about, which happens to be vintage watches and vintage-inspired independent watches (and just some independents that I like). If you don’t like it, feel free to just…not watch. You are free to form your own opinion on the watch, that’s fine. But I would urge you not to tell people in general what they should or should not be doing. Have a nice weekend!
I'm not in the same league to collect watches at this level, but if I was, this would be my grail. They are works of art
Agreed!

Absolutely well put Frank!
Stunning and how good does Mr Biver look for his age. Stunning watches.

4 X cost of similar Patek Philippe’s, 5 X similar Rolex…. What a wet dream…. Adore your content any other given day, thank you…

The watches are undeniably beautiful and filled with high end quality. Only complaint is that the typography of their logo so plain and lack lustre
That movement is beautiful ❤
Yo Adam what's up !
My man!
I can't quite put my finger on why, but to my eye that is the perfect watch. Truly the sum of all its parts.
The legend sets it straight! Love it, he is indeed a true visionary! RESPECT sir.
Beautiful watches.some of the dials reminds me of the omega 30t2rg.
Indeed it does!
Very interesting show, they’re producing super cool watches, Thanks Adam, much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
Amazing. Keep it going guys. Beautiful timepieces.
Another beautiful video! So happy to see how healthy and passionate as ever Biver is at his age 😍
Incredible. Please do these walk through s with more brands!
We’ve done a few! Check some older videos.
Watches!
Where’s my red sub? 😁😁😁

Love JCB, I just fail to see the visionary part about their watches?
People sleep on Dubois dupraz beautiful piece
Very nice but still way out of most price point
Hes doing it for a legacy and a big fat earner 😅
Something tells me he doesn’t need the money…
His Personal Net Worth: CHF 150 million. Don't think it's about the money
He already has legacy, he's doing it for passion.
