NEW HAVEN, CT - At approximately 8:15am on March 1, 2024, the New Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 246 Atwater Street for a reported house on fire. Companies responding to the call reported smoke showing from a distance. Once on scene, members found heavy smoke and fire showing on the D-side from the 1st floor to the roof of a 2 1/2 story wood frame. Searches on all floors proved difficult due to the ‘hoarding conditions’ reported by Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Coghlin. Unsure of any injuries or cause at this time.
