    How can anyone trust a guy that puts the blade guards on upside down and leaves them on when outdoors?

      The blade guards aren't supposed to be on outdoors as they severely effect flight handling in the wind. It's better to take them off and not crash than have them on and increase the chances of crashing.

      KCG - Kodie Collings Gaming plus it looks like the blade guards came backwards. Blue goes with the blue props and black with black right?

    It's worth noting that the Phantom 2 only gets a 25 minute flight time or even a little better when no gimbal and camera is on it. Adding a gimbal and doc accessories will reduce flight time sub 20 mins. The new Phantom 3 which has everything on it camera gimbal etc is expected to have 23 minute flight time using a 4 cell battery vs the Phantoms 2s 3 cell.

    Why are you flying the bebop with the indoor hull?? That will make your flight very bad because the bumpers work like sailed and gets blown around!! Also if you get an Ndidia shield for your bebop you get awesome control than using the touch screen! Also you don't have to pay the money for the sky controller. My bebop fly's extremely stable with the Nvidia shield!

    • @chrishaskins3505

      +rAdiant Jet while the sky controller is not needed, it does give you some added features... like the ability to fly over a mile away... i currently fly mine with the shield as well but plan to add the controller in the near future

  • @Jeradox
    @Jeradox 9 лет назад +1

    Great non bias review! However, the Bebop is a lot more effective and easier to control out-doors if you take off the bumpers. The bumpers are for indoor flight only, when used outside it picks up a lot more wind resistance pushing it around a lot more then if they were not there.

    Ill start off by saying I am new to drones. I was thinking about getting a phantom, but then I also have to buy a Go Pro which is almost 500$. I have watched this video comparison and multiple others and they pretty much all say the same thing. The BEBOP is pretty good, especially for an entry level drone. Everyone here seems to think its a piece of junk but all the professional websites and reviewers think otherwise. For $500 total you get the BEBOP, Im gonna give it a shot!

    In all the videos I have seen so far showing the Parrot bebop there is a glitch in the video where it looks like it does a quick jump back and forth, not quite sure how to describe it. I figure it is a bug in the software control that can be fixed.
    On a side note it sounds as if you are pronouncing DJI as DGI, you're not the only one tho as it seems like a common mispronunciation.

      Ben7seven7 The Beebop has a fixed camera so the side to side will show up no matter what, a gimbal corrects that problem, if you want to test this for yourself grab a cheap toy grade quad with camera and take video, you will see the same jumping around that you witnessed on the Beebop.

    • @Ben7seven7

      I don't know, do not plan on buying the bebop due to the high cost of the skycontroller, I am looking at their other one which I found a controller that I can connect to my phone to control, saves the expense since the other one has about the same camera and costs 100 bucks less plus has a downwards facing camera.

    just buy the Phantom 2 vision plus - you get the best FPV and the better camera - be sure to get some kinda camera/gimbal protector - it will cost you less in the long run - the RTH feature on the P2V+alone will save your ass - bee bop is a practice quad and that is all - i learned on the AR 2.0 and it cost me as much as the phantom 2 Vision plus after all of the replacement parts i had to buy in order to keep it in the air and there is NO comparison in the cameras !! P2V+ wins by a landslide!!

  • @Ben7seven7
    @Ben7seven7 9 лет назад +3

    For another $100 the Phantom 3 advanced is a much better buy than a Parrot bebop with the extra controller for extended range. With the Phantom 3 you will have a much better FPV system a faster more stable craft in higher winds, better video quality and so on.

    this comparison is not really realistic , your comparing a Hyundai to a BMW, different platforms, and price, Phantom is 800 bucks minimum and go pro is at least 400 bucks, so your looking at 1200,, the bebop is 500 complete,, so this comparison is bullshit

      +Elmo Di Calro True. I also see a lot of areas where thr Bebop is put down where it performs better. twke for example hovering. I can tell you that Bebop does much better at hovering because it uses GPS as well as other sensors such as a vertical camera (plus an ultrasound speaker/reciever and pressure sensor for height) while the DJI uses only GPS. Just had to fix that one when I heard it.

      +Elmo Di Calro Remember that this video is 9 months old, so it is hard to make price comparisons. I just got the Phantom 3 2 weeks ago for $599 to my door. IMHO, the 2.7K video looks better than either of these, but of course it would since the video we are seeing is limited to 1080P. A good comparison would be uploaded in 4K after proper loss free editing. Only then would you be able to make a good comparison on a 32in 4K monitor. And hey, Don't knock the Hyundai Genesis

    Here's the real question...can either of them float?
    I just lost my Phantom (and gopro) to Lake Monroe in Indiana. Very sad. It was about 50 yards offshore when, for no reason at all, descended gracefully into the murky depths even though I was pushing the ascent stick all the way up. Thought I had put a fresh battery. Had it been buoyant, I could have at the very least recovered my footage. So sad.
    That is a huge design flaw. Obviously people who do aerial photography are going to fly it over bodies of water, and sometimes things happen. If you're gonna pay that much for a drone, they could have at least made designed it to float.
    Guess I'll be getting a splash drone next.

    0:34 The characters"Parrot" are upside-down. Why?
    .
    P.S. There are many accidents in my country that Phantoms crash during flying.
    There was no reason.
    There was no trouble but a Phantom suddenly crashed.
    As you know that Phantom is Made in China.
    Parrot Bebop is Made in France.
    Therefore I will buy Parrot Bebop.

    disagree with the guy who says the DJI Phantom is easy to break - not at all the case and there is no comparison in these two quads - They are called "drones" but are really quadcopters - the DJI Phantom is by far the best choice - the bee bop will cost you far for replacement parts to keep it in the air - you can spend the loot on the Phantom and be happy for a long long time ...

  • @12ShadowAssasin
    @12ShadowAssasin 9 лет назад

    As soon as you said the bebops battery was difficult i denounced this review. All you have to do is grab the connector within the bebop and then plug the battery in....I could do it in about 10 seconds and that includes replacing the old one...
    I am not going to get started about how you compared the gp4 to the bebop camera.
    Also did you compare there durability?
    Try to crash that phantom into a tree and see what happens...

    Think connectivity! Like the idea of under $40 if you need to practice first . I'll be attending International CES Vegas and always love to see what Parrot has in space for 2016. See you there Parrot and I'll be on your radar in one of my many articles to come

  • @centereddev
    @centereddev 9 лет назад

    good comparison. Seems like he had good luck with both the quadcopters. I had a bebop that randomly fell out of the sky and crashed with a motor failure, Parrot did replate it tho! from the forums it seems like a common problem. A lot of people are having problems with the return to home as well. That could be fixed in the new updates tho. He mentions the fpv setup for the phantom being an extra 400. I think you can get it cheaper than that, but its important to keep in mind that with that you would be getting TRUE RADIO FPV, which is much better than the laggy wifi fpv that comes with the bebop. I don't have the skycontroller so it might not be as laggy with that but i can't imagine its close to true FPV. Overall I think the bebop is a great beginner quadcopter, if you're a beginner you WILL crash your first drone, especially if you're flying in small parks in brooklyn like me.

  • @nicolaslangford6988
    @nicolaslangford6988 9 лет назад

    Great comparison, but it is important for consumers to know that the FPV system on the bebop is very laggy and cannot be solely relied on for flying. I fly the bebop visually and only glance at the FPV to get a reference point as to which way the drone is facing.
    Also in my country the drone costs just under $700 and the Skycontroller costs about $500. I think that $500 just for extra range is too much. I would not fly the bebop further than 500m away from me as it will be hard to visually see the direction the bebop is pointing, and would be have difficulty trusting the FPV.
    Flying with the iPad is very easy to use and provides enough range.

  • @flashalexander3365

    My bad, I was thinking Bebop. Got a little confused there. Still, compare that to an x380. The videos produced look to be better than what you can get at the same or similar price point. With the X380 now around 200.00, add the sj4000 cam and a gimble and you will be at 350.00 minimum. Bebop video wins. What do you think?

    I've found the stabilization on the Parrot to be unbeatable. Event with a buffered gimbal, the video I've seen from Phantom/GoPro always has some wobble. Parrot video is super smooth.

  • @larbueno
    @larbueno 9 лет назад

    Nice video overall...thanks for taking the time to do it.
    25 minutes flight time for a DJI Phantom 2 with GoPro4?! Not even close. I've tried all props made by DJI and have 3 well-maintained batteries and have never gone beyond 14 or so minutes. I don't fly aggressively other than when I climb to my max of 400 feet. Mostly I film/photograph homes and nature films, so plenty of getting to a spot and holding it for awhile with subtle movements, camera tilts, etc.
    Then again, I haven't figured out how to fill my Phantom with enough helium to get those extended flight times!

    Big point missed. I had issues with the ceiling of the Bebop. The Parrot website says 2500m but the Bebop in no way is useful at that elevation and that should be feet according to Parrot. Flying from the 6,000 foot elevation the drone was unusable and crashed right after takeoff twice. When I contacted Parrot they stated that the ceiling is the same as the drone 2.0 which is limited to 2200 feet elevation. I know it can go higher because that is the elevation I live at near Las Vegas and I had no issues there but I never pushed it higher. But elevation ceiling is important when you live in higher elevations. My DJI Inspire 1 has no issues with the areas I fly in the US southwest and I have never had an elevation issue with it even over 8,000. I do not know about the Phantom as I never owned one but I suspect that it too has a decent ceiling.

    You tested the Bebop outdoors with an indoor setup. So, your test isn't valid with that setup. As radiant jet pointed out, the indoor hull attachments act as a sail when used outdoors. Did you read the instructions at all? You need to redo this comparison. As of now, it's not valid in comparing the two drones' ability to fly and stabilize.

    I'm sorry, which GoPro camera are you using? I couldn't tell if the video was about drones, or one big pluggin for the GoPro Hero 4 Black edition. Still good video

    Even the dji vision+ has lag on its camera if you wanted to stream it live. You can probably fly the bebop blind relying only on the camera.

    I have both of them. Parrot bebop can only be good to fly outdoor when it's very calm day,more into indoor flying. It comes with two batteries,can only last 11minutes per charge.
    Where DJI Phantom 2 Vision+(V3) Battery can last up to 21minutes per charge. It can fly at the altitude of 500meters or more and out of sight on gentle breeze. It's accurate on RTH(return to home) when signal is lost on radio control. It's gimbal and camera that you can pan down to see the ground from above...All in all,DJI Phantom2 V+ is a serious drone for an outdoor aerial Videography.
    DJI P2V+ is twice expensive than the Parrot Bebop.. Not unless you buy Parrot Bebop with Sky Controller that double the price!!!.

    the better comparison would be the blackbird x10 compared to the beebop drone, since both have dedicated camera systems, no gimbals Either way, which one would be best for outdoor filming? I mean the syma X5C gets 8 minute flight times so the BeeBop is not looking very impressive in that aspect, even with two batteries you still have to charge both, granted the X5C's video sucks compared to the BeeBop but it does give an idea of flight times and three minutes even with decent camera does not warrant 940 bucks more w/o controller last time I checked. Besides, you can grab a keychain camera and toss on the X5C and get just as good video if not better for around 120 bucks, just saying the BeeBop does not seem to compare at all to a DJI product or any of the Walkera brand filming platforms. Good review overall, I just think the BeeBop is way overpriced considering the skycontroller is sold separately, that should be an all in one kit for a lot less money say 500 bucks or something.

    How's the noise and windy conditions comparison of the two drones? I've seen the Phantom 2 being used on a construction site on a windy day and it seemed to be quite stable. It seem to be pretty quite also even though it was pretty close a few times.

    The Bebop is amazing but it lacks a sound recording - this in my view is the next stage for Parrot technology - what do you think ?? G

    Bit unfair that you say you need fpv for the Phantom at $400-600, but don't factor in the cost of the tablet you need to do the same with the Bebop. Is it ipad only or will android devices work?

    • @paulviglucci2883

      It can connect with iPhone iPad or any android device and you probably have one of those at home if you were to buy an expensive drone anyways. The parrot is ready to fly out of the box where in the dji you have to buy accessories to even get a camera on it. That's a $500 go pro if you just want to get good video on it, the price of the bebop.

    the only thing i have to say is you are comparing a $500 drone to a $2000 drone and from my experience the bebop is not as glitchy as stated here every once in a while it will shoot up 50 or so feet for no reason on takeoff but i think that's just the gps feature doing sompthing.

    Sooo ive been looking at getting into this hobby for a while but the only thing that scares me is the price tag. I deff want to get something that has a gps system so that i can do long range flights if i wanted to so i was actually looking at the DJI F550. Can you give me some generic price of what i may be looking at without all the bells and whistles?

    Вот только не нужно забывать что в Дроне камера закреплена статично. Видео снималось в безветренную погоду, углом наклона камеры нельзя управлять. Если подует ветер, то дрона начнет раскачивать и соответственно картинка будет скакать. Если же брать DJI NAZA, то там стоит 3D подвес который позволяет выравнивать камеру относительно горизонта, если подует ветер и DJI начнет качать, то картинка останется стабильной и видео не будет скакать.

    Bebop does not start recording automatically when it takes off. It has a button to turn off and on. Also the price point of the bebop drone is $500 instead of $800 for the DJI w/o a camera. Just the facts.

    I have a gopro hero 3 and would be quit keen to buy the DJI but my main use for it would be to film the likes of mountain bikes moving down a track so I think the DJI would be good due to its speed. I do like the bepbop as it allows you to see what your filming which you can do with the gopro app but with the 5 sec lag and poor connection distance I don't know if id be better with the bepbop. Any advise ?
