- In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create an XML Sitemap with the Yoast SEO WordPress plugin and submit it to Google. Yoast recently deployed their 20.0 update that introduced some pretty big changes to the user interface that affects how you interact with some features, including the XML sitemap. This video walks you through that process and covers some of the changes that were made to the Yoast SEO WordPress plugin during the 20.0 update.

Is this only for WordPress? Also when submitting a sitemap. Is it just your website URL, or does it have to be each page within the website that has to be submitted?
Yep, it's for WordPress. And when submitting, you only have to do it for your primary domain. :)

How do I remove url's that are still showing in Google search console - do you have a video on how to permanently remove those. They do not exist as I was learning and changing as we go on the pages and posts.
Hi! Thanks for watching! I would set up 301 redirects for those old URLs. That way when Google crawls them, they will see the 301 and will strike it from search. :)

I see when you generated the site map there was a list of 3 or 4. How do you know which one to use?
Hi! Thanks for watching! Hmmmmm it could be because you have a large site with a lot of items. You can add them all to your GSC account. You can submit up to 500 sitemap index files for each site in your Search Console account. Hope that helps and thanks again!
Why it is always a success for the 1st try to submit the sitemap. I always got can't fetch. What is wrong. Do u have any vid to fix this

Hi! Thanks for watching! There could be multiple things causing this issue. I would first try flushing your permalink settings. All you'll do is go to Settings>Permalinks and then resave your settings. This article does a good job at listing out some other ways to troubleshoot. rankmath.com/kb/incorrect-http-header-content-type-sitemap-error/ Give it a read and let me know if that helps.
i got an issue, my sitemap say "error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document"

@@blogwithben thanks for the reply ben, I managed to fix the sitemap. there were different sections in the settings menu to to disable each author and theme related categories. kinda hard to see those in the first glace, specially if you're new to the plugin.

I changed permalink structure from default: ?p=123 to Post name: sample-post/
Site is pretty new but was indexed before this change.
What do I need to do, to completely index the site with brand new permalink structure?
