    I appreciate how vintage documentary-tier advertisements actually have greater amount of narration and cinematography compared to how repulsive modern ads are.

    Man this is really interesting and actually quite relaxing to listen to. It’s crazy how as advanced as that film was, it’s not as widely used as I expected.

    This guy radiates the enthusiastic confidence of someone who just confirmed that those pesky environmental scientists have been securely encased in mylar

    In short, Mylar is the shit.

      Well really the only thing it is good for now is hypothermia blankets and spacecraft. You can even buy Mylar at Walmart now!. Do you really think some BS company like Dupont REALLY INVENTED IT? Hell no! It was joint between NASA the military and DARPA! It used to be used in speakers like phones and earbuds. But now, that is used by a stronger material like thin metal (a concoction of aluminum and iron...etc.)

      @@manuelruen Two Google searches reveal that both of those companies were founded three years AFTER this film was shot, let alone Mylar's development.

    I wonder how high the pile of acrobats was before they got the shot.

    So space blankets are just a newer use for an older material. 😋

      About halfway through the video it shows that mylar can be "metalized" into what essentially is a space blanket.

    Is this video copy righted? I'd like to use it for a business report.

    So we just going to ignore this man having a wet electric motor, and not being fried to kingdom come?

    • @manuelruen
      @manuelruen 3 года назад +1

      Well it wasn't just water man. It was an oil called mineral oil. It is dielectric. Which means you could stick your whole laptop into a tank full of mineral water right now and it would stay cool and not fry up! How do you think transformers work on your telephone poles without overheating huh? It has a ton of mineral oil in it! But, if it does blow up because of the parts inside not being maintained...its gonna sound like like 90 thousand shotguns going off at one time and start a huge fire. And that is just one of them!

    Not anymore
    forget about what you see
    altercation of the original Mylar took place long time ago
    now if you don't buy they don't make money so none of that in the above other than it used for military grade items and BPVs
