If you actually shoot guns and have decent arm strength recoil is never really that difficult to control unless your mag dumping for some reason and even then if your experienced it’s not that hard.
I haven't shot the 500 but the 460 atleast honestly has very tame recoil for what it is in my experience, feels more gentle than 357 mag but that's mostly because of the weight and the compensator

Silly revolver, like old people buy muscle cars ment for young people. Not as good as an rifle and inferior in a gun fight to a regular Glock that put 5 bullits in you before you shoot.
That long and heavy barrel tipped with a muzzle brake helps a lot. I’ve git the 8-3/8” barrel and it has a muzzle brake with ports only on the top . It greatly reduces barrel jump with the lighter buckets . However , the 500 grain bullets and heavier kick insanely hard. I don’t enjoy shooting them at all. The Hornady 300 grain XTPs are awesome though . 2,075 FPS and over 3000 ft lbs make the 300 XTPs the most powerful when it come to muzzle energy anyway

Grandpa is an absolute monster. Only 45 degrees of muzzle flip out of a .500 S&W is nuts.
That long and heavy barrel tipped with a muzzle brake helps a lot.
I’ve git the 8-3/8” barrel and it has a muzzle brake with ports only on the top . It greatly reduces barrel jump with the lighter buckets . However , the 500 grain bullets and heavier kick insanely hard.
I don’t enjoy shooting them at all.
The Hornady 300 grain XTPs are awesome though . 2,075 FPS and over 3000 ft lbs make the 300 XTPs the most powerful when it come to muzzle energy anyway
