- Over Labor Day weekend, some members from East Texas Jeep Club and myself decided to dive up to Bridgeport Texas to earn our first Texas Jeep Badge of Honor! It was a great weekend with amazing people!
It is much drier now. Looks like you guys ran everything we did in reverse.
PS...the normal sound would be better, that music was killing me 😂
Yea probably
I felt like I was watching the Little Engine That Could when that TJ was trying to make it up the hills. I cheering him up the them in my head. Great video. Keep it up. BTW, I’m in Houston and will travel to join a ride, just let me know. 🤙🏼
Yea that YJ did it’s very best especially since she was a standard transmission! I definitely will, I’m in Austin!
@@NYAOAdventures ha, my mistake, I didn’t see the headlights. Couldn’t tell it was a YJ.
I have a 6 speed JK and love my manual trans. I’ve been out to Hidden Falls and just got back from Big Bend and hit Black Gap for a Badge of Honor. Also camped on Ole Ore Road.
@@ffpulley77 I want to go back to big bend now I have my jeep! What’s the best way to let you know my next trip?
@@NYAOAdventures I don’t have FB or IG. I guess just hit me up on my email. It’s my YT name @ gmail.
@@ffpulley77 how was big bend? I was starting to plan a trip until all the border rush started happening? Any issues?
Do you have to do certain trails to get the badge of honor?
Just like hidden falls, there’s no specific trail you have to do to earn the badge. We did most of the main trails there were a few that were harder for the YJ
@@NYAOAdventures is the badge of honor just for jeeps , and how do you get one. 🤷🏻♂️
Can't wait to get my jeep ready for the trails. I'm pretty much stock except for the 3.5" lift and 35" tires. I don't trust my axels or my 3.21 gear ratio. Plan on getting Dana 44's with 5.13 gear ratio along with other important mods. Gotta save up the money first.
I went back there thanksgiving weekend and we had 2 completely bone stock wranglers out there. They did fine. Minor rubbing but otherwise they did great
Just did Moab and Colorado with 2.5 on 35’s and 3.21. No lockers and crushed it. Put it in 4 low, watch your line and throttle control and you’ll do great. Have fun brutha.
@@bestfriendworstenemy5560 good to hear. I was planning on going to Colorado last month but i got COVID instead and it did a number on me due to me having diabetes as well. Hopefully next summer i can hit those Colorado trails.
@@AceGoodheart glad to here you made it through that. Nasty stuff, had it myself…..crushed it 😎. If you’ve never done ouray and telluride, it will blow you away. Awesome trails
Did you use 4L all the time or where y’all switching 4h and 4l?
4 low is primarily your “trail gear”. Gotta remember your only like 5 -25 around here. When it opens up in the flats you can go 4 high or 2 high if your froggy and disengage traction control. Have fun
@@bestfriendworstenemy5560 thanks!
Is that a 2wd jeep?
No they were all 4WD
I wondered the same thing, "Do they make 2wd Jeeps?!"
@@mikethompson7406 …not in the Wrangler or Gladiator’s, but yes in other models. This being said, it has to be engaged unless its one of the full time systems.
No offense to y'all , but this place looks lame compared to hidden falls. 🤦🏻♂️
I go to hidden falls way more than I go there. The badge of honor is just for jeeps, you can register your jeep vin on the jeep badge of honor app and check in at the parks.
