In the original DuckTales, Ma Beagle had seven sons, named Burger, Bouncer, Babyface, Bigtime, Baggy, Bankjob, and Bugle. Burger, Bigtime, Bouncer, and Baggy were the main ones, while Babyface, Bankjob, and Bugle each only appeared in 7 or fewer episodes. Baggy is the only one of the seven who didn't return in the 2017 reboot. The 1989 5-episode serial "Super DuckTales" introduced an 8th Beagle Boy, Megabyte, who appeared in two episodes in the serial and never again.

The Beagle Boys have been around for a really long time- if Disney needs a villain for Mickey, Donald, or Goofy to fight and don’t want to use Pete, they usually turn to these guys. In the comics their family has a very, VERY long history with Scrooge in particular
So the whole arc of Webby in this show is her trying to find the places among the rest of the main cast. In a way, that's what all the kids in this show try to do, but with her it is extra apparent. So it's really nice that in the very 1st ep that touched this conflict we've already reached the point that Webby should stay herself and shouldn't try to fit the mold. Says a lot abt ducktales as a show. Also, u r asking all the right questions Elijah.

When the show was being developed there were originally plans to have Mickey guest star in a few episodes but Disney immediately shot that down because this was Donald’s time to shine and they didn’t want Mickey stealing his spotlight

It's kinda cool how they just reveal Beakly is a spy right in the second episode just straight up. Most story heavy cartoons would drag something like that out for an entire season, but this show said, "Screw it, you've figured it by now anyway". Gettin' right to the point.
The reason I first got into ducktales is because my aunt voiced ma beagle, but I watched rhe whole thing because the series was genuinely awesome. I'm so glad to see you watching through it

6:00 I feel moved to share with you a fake spoiler, (as is practice with the Wee Lass).
Beakly is actually a biologically engineered super solider (think Captain America) who's secretly training Webby to become her replacement once she gets older (and able to safely take the serum that gives/unlocks her powers) so she can be ready to take down Launchpad (who's actually an amnesiac super-spy, who's responsible for 'getting rid of' Webby's parents).

Webby is the love child of Scrooge and Beakly. They are hiding her away while training her to be the next Darkwing Duck.

Here we go with our next adventure in Duckburg! Much like the pilot, this episode was a lot of fun to watch, as it helps develop some of the characters more, like Webby and Ms. Beakley, and provides some great character interactions that are bound to lead to some funny laughs.
I loved your reactions throughout the episode, especially when Beakley revealed herself to be a spy. Also, I've got a feeling you'll keep calling Scrooge McScrooge and Beakley Mal. Those were funny slip-ups.

I am crossing my fingers hoping that you're watching this on a platform that has the episodes in their exact order and not what Disney Plus did to the order.
There are solid story arcs complete with a set time line that place is DuckTales has the direct influence for shows that came after it such as Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House.
Plus episode 4 is both a tribute to a very popular 1970s movie and the intro to a fan favorite character of the series.
Last time I checked, the Disney Plus order is the order the DT crew wanted it to be in. So hopefully she either switches or sticks to DisneyPlus.

Honestly I don’t think it’ll help; to me that scene only confirmed that there’s at least three Roxannes in this universe (the first two being in this episode), and that the one with the book ended up giving Older Timmy’s supposed appearance in New Wish 7 years before that actually happened. So if Elijah figures that out I bet she’ll be even less happy
The best part is Webby misunderstanding and getting ready to kill the Funzo manager. You know she can do it, even with that plastic spork. As for Webby and your other questions, I won't give spoilers, but I will say the show is good at answering most questions, it might just take a while. All plot points get resolved sooner or later.

This show has Easter Eggs for Goof Troop, the Goofy Movie, Original Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Chip n Dale's Rescue Rangers and I swear I saw a Gummi Bear reference somewhere. If you had watched all of them then Roxanne wouldn't be the only one screaming at you to recognize.
Don't Goof Troop/GoffyMovie and Ducktales canonically take place in the same world? Like, it's been a hot minute, but I seem to remember lots of Ducktales references when watching Goof Troop as a kid.

It's always fascinating top me watching someone so new to those characters. Im italian and here in italy Dpnald, Scrooge and the others are so into the pop culture that litterally everyone had read the comics at least once in their life and those characters are extra familiar to us (except for Webby and Birkley, altought the old Ducktales is very popular so many knows them too).
A lot of words for saying that I love to see your fresh reaction to this wonderful show, wich go very deep in duck lore and comics lore. I love it!
When I first watched Dragon Prince it was really hard for me not to picture Sokka every time Callum spoke, but eventually I got over it. Just keep focusing on Mrs. Beakley as a character and it will get better the more you watch her.

Mrs. Beakley's v.a. was also in a show a long time ago called the Neighbors playing an alien in the form of a human named Jackie Joiner-Kersey(sp?). A human family moves to the suburbs to this gated community where they discover that the whole community is aliens that have named themselves after sports figures. It's great but really short.
Seeing her call a manga an 'anime book' made me blue screen for a second there.
Ma Beagle is voiced by famed character actress Margo Martindale. You may have seen her or heard her in lots of things. Two of my favorite roles are the character she played in Justified and when she voiced herself in Bojack Horseman.
