This is What i would imagine the Theme to be if, by Some chance, link survived the collision of the moon onto termina, just you and the remains of the world you failed to protect.
imagine having to save a planet (as far as we know) from a moon that was possessed by a wooden kid who was taken over by a demonic mask, and having to transform into multiple lost souls that YOU had to put to rest, including a shark/human hybrid, a buff mountain hero, and a wooden child who was taken from their father, and all within a span of 3 days, which when completed, you go INSIDE OF THE MOON and find yourself in a seemingly peaceful place only to be brought to a dark coliseum where you and a sentient mask of corruption and evil fight, with the mask then turning into some kind of skinny flexible creepy being, afterwards, turning into a demon with giant rope arms and inhumane agility, and then it all ending with the mask being reduced to atoms right before our eyes, after letting out a demonic roar. all while being a child. doesn't that sound fun😊 edit: sorry for the essay, Majora's Mask is one of my favorite games ever, and its by far my favorite zelda game.
I have the seeds of a story planted in my mind, and I intend to write it down some day. This song, slowed down or not, perfectly encapsulates the ending. The protagonist is talking to her friend just before the final confrontation with a being with seemingly endless power. The friend has preminotions of her death, and knows that nothing can be done to avoid this fate. Earlier in the timeline, a time traveler came to the protagonist and told her that victory against this foe is inevitable, but now the protagonist isn't sure she wants to beat the villain anymore, because she's now aware of the price that will be paid to achieve the victory; the life of her best friend.
Imagine turning into a shark who got killed because he tried to rescue eggs that got stolen from a depressed female shark. This game is dark af.

I love this game so much. A lot of that has to be because of the music I think.
Bleak and cold. I love hearing it without the bells and quakes. Maybe the new Breath Of The Wild will give an experience similar to this game in tone.
