Looks like Jeff felt bitter that he didn't get the gig and they went with Joe Stump instead

That’s pretty embarrassing too because Joe Stump is a total clown

"So far so good so what" is beyond underrated.

I saw the Yngwie Alcatrazz twice in 1984 and I have the studio and live cd, other releases, etc. Yngwie's version was the best- all the other versions are sub par (yes, even the boring Vai version). Accept no substitutes.

Honestly Alcatrazz with out Yngwie sounds like a money grab tour

Maybe just during the audition, Graham Bonnet didn't sing and they used a tape. In concerts Graham Bonnet normally sang live

He always has to his credit.

Yeah, for me, it's almost impossible to believe that Graham Bonnet would lip sync live. As a life long, obsessive, die-hard Rainbow fan I've acquired bootlegs or heard 90% of all the live shows he did while in Rainbow from October '79 until his final show August 16, 1980 at Castle Donington and every single one of those performances were genuinely live. You could hear all Graham's screw-ups, jokes, laughs, vocal improvs, etc. Besides, Blackmore just wouldn't allow a non-live vocal performance, lol. And Bonnet didn't NEED to ever do that. He had the vocal chops live and Alcatrazz was only a few years after that so unless, for some reason he lost his voice or something...I don't buy it.

Jeff is crazy. Graham Bonnet is just an incredible vocalist and I have seen many videos of him performing live where he sounds AMAZING and quite clearly is NOT lip syncing to a track. I think Jeff is just nuts.

Nah. I found a video on RUclips a while back when Bonnet clearly isn't singing, but the vocals are coming anyway. Total fraudster.

@@labontetrevor Cant search my comments on youtube. Find a comment by me in a live graham bonnet band performance and that's the one. Vocals are heard, where his lips don't move. Dude's a fraudster.

@@labontetrevorThere are videos where Graham is singing along with a backing track of his own vocals, just the thicken out the sound I guess. But he's clearly also singing live along with it. I wonder if he's just getting mixed up with that. Either way, I notice he didn't reply

Alcatrazz was a poorer version of Rainbow, if you ask me.Maybe I'm wrong. I wish Graham made at least one more album with Rainbow. I like JLT. I think JLT's first album with Rainbow is not that good except two or three tracks. The two albums after that are great!

I think Jeff might be a trumpy type and from interviews has some strange ideas about things. This may be why he wasn't a fit "personally." i always thought this story of his was a load of BS and the manager's story sounds true. Makes you wonder now about anything that Jeff says. He's said some weird things in interviews with the Kings of Thrash band. I have a bad feeling that that project isn't going anywhere. It's too bad, because he's a very good player.

Yes, looks like Jeff didn't get along with the band. Jeff didn't like Graham Bonnet for some reason, I guess. Also looks like Jeff didn't know Alcatrazz material really well while Joe Stump can play everything Yngwie plays. Joe Stump was the best fit for the band. And looks like Jeff was really frustrated about not getting the gig.

@@karsguitarchannel6088 Also Joe Stump is a HUGE Ritchie Blackmore fan and one of the reasons Bonnet went with Yngwie is he had that Blackmore vibe/look/style to him so it's only fitting he would chose a guy who embodied both those guitarists and knew and could play their material inside & out.
