Hi I know this video is a yea old. Not sure if I’ll get a quick reply. I have been having trouble with my Dodge Avenger 2012 for about 3 months now. It started off with my car jerking and shutting off while driving, I was told a lot of different reasons for it and landed to it being an electrical problem. My battery died completely. starter, transmission, engine and alternator has been confirmed working fine. We changed the battery car started up beautifully no more check engine light gears started to shift because that was also a problem I was having which explained the jerking my car was trying to shift and everytime it tried the car suddenly turned off but was still rolling lights etc was still in but the engine. I’m having even more weird symptoms with my gears not shifting car losing power while already off and in park. But gain power on its own with out a jump start. Idk if this could be my problem, I need help before the mechanics try to run me for my money.
The codes I got after changing the battery is p0731 p0750 p0841 and p0846 I think for the last one. I changed the transmission pressure sensor and speed solenoid I believe and still getting code for it.
I think you ought to get your self a code reader, very easy to use then reserch the codes for your year and make of your car. For PO750, that's your solenoid pack, for some cars it's mounted on the exterior of your transmission and is a easy replacement, if it's in your transmision body, it's a different story all together. That's why you need a code reader and diag your codes here on utube in the future.@@Lidahjay
hey. so my 2012 dodge avenger is running hot and when i try to accelerate it takes a lil while to start and the car sputters whenever i press on the brakes. also theres a burning smell and the engine stays hot for hours..im thinking its the transmission or transmission fluid but i cant even find where the stick is for it ...COULD SOMEONE HELP PLZZ? Also my lights are flickering
@@jordanyates8920 Yes. Put in a new cooling fan motor relay , Got an oil change & got my battery terminal cleaned out. I have partial batttery cover so water from the rain get on it and makes the car act funky
@@wuilianbernal1214 I have a problem too stay in first gear and some time have a powerful shift in 3rd gear ...I change the solenoid shift pack bc of malfunction transmission module and stuck solenoid but it's actually the computer giving all the problem not the transmission.... After I replace I not recommend buying Dodge money bleeder....I own many.

Yes it needs to be programmed by vin, there is some websites can do that for you, you just give them your vin and they program it for you

The avenger doesn't have a TCM. The PCM operates the valves via a relay. @@dreadheaduntamed
My avenger has a 2.7 and the part that sets where that is has 4 harnesses plugged in to it, is it the tcm or ecu
