Hell yeah M/S!!!! The first trick I learned in 2007 while learning mastering was add tube distortion only to the high end on the Side channel to reduce sibilance instead of EQing. Still use it to this day, in addition to Tape saturation only on the Mid channel on the Low End. M/S is just so versatile.

I was one of those who asked about this! Thanks for answering! You said that mid/side processing, while it has creative uses, is mostly a corrective tool. My gut instinct, as a neoclassical producer, was to think of it first as a creative tool to getting wider mixes mostly through mid/side EQ techniques, e.g. boosting the highs in the side signals so that the ear is drawn outward. I guess keeping an eye on the correlation meter would be crucial in that case. Such a fascinating world!
