- Meet the Jetson Astro
Today Jetson and SWAE announced their partnership to bring new innovative products and experiences to market. The first joint project is "Jetson Astro", the robot dog.
Jetson Astro was inspired by Astro in "The Jetsons", where he is George's self-appointed best friend. Astro has a flair for dramatics and is not ashamed to cry for attention.
Astro is a custom design by SWAE based on the famous Boston Dynamics robot dog “Spot”. A revolution in robotics, Spot was first revealed to the world in 2016. Since then, the industry leading engineers at Boston Dynamics have continued to push the limits of whats possible for their four-legged friend.
We imagine that Astro could inspect critical Jetson ONE components such as propeller mounts, do a safety scan before take-off, and ensure that bystanders keep their safety distance. It is still early days and we are grateful to have the opportunity to test this technology with our partner SWAE.
Our mission is to make the skies available for everyone with our safe personal electric aerial vehicle.

So just a reskinned spot mini from Boston dynamics? Got it.
You got it ? 👏
Yea, and we can put guns and drink trays on it if we want.....
Exactly. This is stupid. Just like their flying crap.
Lol who cares 🎉
Maybe it does pre-flight checks for you. Or if that's literally all it is, then yeah what the other guy said. Drink tray and guns
This Jetson company is giving off strong Escobar Phone vibes. They literally bought a Boston Dynamic dog and added plastic decals to it.
They meant to say: "Meet Boston Dynamics Astro, the companion to Jetson ONE!"
I love Boston Dynamics, and Jetson's vision for mobility. But like others already said: dont become Like Escobar Phone
Will your dog be able to remotely deliver gifts to the rusian occupiers in the form of mines, for example?
So basically, Astro is the equalivent to a "Pit Droid" from Star Wars. Ok. Can it also repair your personal chopper if it's in need of maintenance? Because that would really make it a "pit droid" for your Jetson. Also, honestly, why do need a robot to look over your Jetson, when a human is a lot better picking up details then a droid?
... I was waiting ... and nothing happenned. Do they merge together to form Devastator?
My recommendation: Stick to flying things :)
*I really didn't understand the point of this video, other than mere marketing fluff. How do these products relate to each other? How do they complement each other? Are they interoperable in some way? Nah, not really - not in any way at all -- other than both being rich men's toys.*
It's just marketing bullshit to try and draw attention from the fact they havent delivered diddly squat on the orders that were placed last year or the year for delivery's that were supposed to happen in '23 ... in fact they havent achieved much since they took the deposits on orders, other than show off their swanky new "Headquaters" home in Tuscany, Italy in a bunch of uninformative videos that are similarly marketing hype bullshit that have for the most part only been produced to keep some kind of illusion of progress and investors who's patience must be wearing thin by now at bay
Probably best to read the video description.
maybe just focus on the drone?
Now what would be cool is that the Jetson Astro be able to climb aboard, fly, and then disembark from a Jetson One.
That would greatly extend its range in that it could fly 5 or 10 miles, say up to a remote mountain top, land, take a walk around on the mountain and perform whatever tasks there , then remount into the Jetson One and fly back.
And the Astro Robot would weigh less than a human pilot to give the Jetson more range as well.
And in addition to other potential applications there is an obvious military application to this combination, where the Jetson could fly a robot dog behind enemy lines (and over minefields and other obstacles such as rivers and swamps) and then land and the robot dog might be armed with a sniper rifle (which has been demonstrated).
It then could be controlled by a human via a UAV that acts as both an eye in the sky as well as a communications relay, say one of those low cost cardboard UAVs with huge loiter times.
So something like this could be put to use by Ukraine to interdict Russian troop and supply movement by inserting these armed robot dogs say over the Dnieper river and such.
The Jetson might also have enough battery capacity to recharge the Robot Dog's battery several times as well and still have enough juice to recover the robot dog as well.
Such a threat might be even more effective against poorly motivated troops such as we see many of the Russians seem to be in that they think, having UAVs drop bombs on us was bad enough, also having to worry about getting shot by stealthy robot dog snipers hiding in the weeds that can fly anywhere in their very own Jetson VTOLs is simply too much!
And here is another variant, mine clearing.
The Jetson flies the robot dog close to a minefield and lands.
The robot dog dismounts and has a mine detector arm and with that searches for land mines and such.
Once a mine is found, the Jetson could then take off and have a downward firing gun that could detonate the mine from a safe altitude above it then land again to conserve its battery.
If say they are targeting by artillery the Robot dog could remount the Jetson and fly off to some other location and then resume the mine clearing from there.
This then would be a way to clear mines without putting humans at risk.
Also, this could be done at night as well, given the Russian do not have all that much night vision equipment.
Yet one more variant is that the Jetson could fly the robot dog near Russian trenches (say at night) and then the robot dog could dismount (while say armed with a sub machine gun or AT-4 or such and creep into the Russian trenches or amongst their foxholes and even enter underground shelters and engage them point at point blank ranges.
That would give them even more to worry about and further give them yet one more reason to think if they are all that willing to die for Putin!
And yet one more variant is that Ukraine has unmanned boats (called Sea Babies) which could also carry a Jetson which then could carry a robot dog which could be flown by the Jetson from the boat to the shore which then could be used to insert those robot dogs all along the Black Sea coastline.
They could also be extracted by a similar manner and then recharged on the boats and the reinserted.
And maybe the easiest way for the Robot Dog to hitch a ride on the Jetson is have the Jetson take off and hover low to the ground and then the robot dog walks under it and attaches itself to the bottom with a hook much like a n aircraft might carry a bomb on its center line.
Mount that thing underneath, whistle, and have it bring your Jetson right to you like a cowboy's horse.
GOOD JOB!. Its going to be GREAT. Brp Brp!!!
Экосистема будущего!
Next up…. Jetson will show off their 90 inch big screen tv
Gracias por incluirlo en Flight Simulator 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 me encanta este drone.
Idk why people complain about using Spot. I don't think Jetson would ever finish Astro if they had to make a robot dog.
Give it a saddle! I'm gonna ride it! 🤠 Yiiieh haww 🐴
Please don’t get distracted. I just want to fly around.
I want it to follow me from the ground, with video feed and everything!
Fun! Great technology
"please may I have another", if you have a spare Jetson lying around the workshop and want to get rid of it I would be willing to take it off your hands, LOL
Would be Cool if it could attach underneath the Ariel Vehicle🤔👍‼️Act like a Stand too👍that could be released on missions👍👏👏‼️‼️
I'll take either of those Koenigseggs instead of the robot dog, please.
Jetson we need one or two loyal wing robot that can carry our bags and fly along side with jetson one. I think that will be cool.
I’m glad I read a comment about checking the description, because I saw no point in this reskinned spot. But, it does seem it might be useful. Though, would have been awesome if it could attach itself onto the craft and act like an R2D2 and assist the pilot in someway. Run diagnostics during flights, house tools, etc. I don’t know.
We should put astro legs on the Jetson one and make the "dragonfly" - also give me a 100% discount for the tm so I can get to sky dancin!!
Oh, Spot has skins now, that's pretty cool!

or brake one (prop) 😮
when 2 jetson aeros love each other very much...
Крутой пёс. Выглядит как боевой.
Gratulacje🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope to fly one of those before I die.
At the rate drone tech is accelerating into personal transport, it is likely that you will.
THE KOENIGGSEGGS IN THE BACKGROUND.
One step closer to skynet becoming self aware
Yep, not long before the hunter killers hit the skys.
We're already there
I want to buy
Tell me the details
NO! He's gotta ride behind and above like R2D2. Or make him fly along side?
I don’t get it why a (Boston Dynamics) robot dog is a good addition to a flying vehicle?!
How does this excel the flying person drone?
The explanation is nice, no manual inspections any more. But, will you trust a robot inspection?
So what's the point of it other than calling it Astro after the dog in the old series The Jetsons?
You haven't even come out with yours yet!, This makes Jetson company look a little shady, You could slap a decal on a Dyson vacuum and call it yours also, Pay attention to your own company and release this thing already.
У нас в России это производили ещё 15 лет назад
Boston Dynamics's lawyers would like to have a word with you
I was thinking the same, but they recognize Boston Dynamics in the description below the video, phew 😅
_Thought I saw wheels on the elbows & paws._
Wheel paws. And the dog wants to fly too.
🎞🤔 I wonder which of these two drones will go into the future and exist in it ?
I hope that you can figure out how to get a pilot that weights over 190 pounds into the sky one day......
Boston Dynamics needs to go into business with NASA
I don’t get it! 🤨
I need more jetson videos but you guys dont upload
that's because they know how insanely dangerous these are to fly, simply due to the fact they can't autorotate in the event of a total loss of power and will tumble to the ground inverted or in any other potential upset attitude should two or more motors fail for some reason, or a structural failure occur. Thats why none of the videos show the jetson one being flown at significant altitude (and neven when its more than a few meters off the ground its being intentionally flown over trees that will help break the fall) and especially don't show it being flown at heights that anyone who isn't lying to themselves knows will be what most buyers envisage operatiing at ...50-150ft... where they can be showing off to their friends, not so heigh that they are freaking out and not so low their mate on a jet ski is right beside them shaking his head wondering why they paid US90K for somethinig thats safe practical use case is not much different to their 15K jet ski....
then why are they ready for preorders if this is the case
@@CUNextTuesdayorWednesday
How many Jetson's have been sold so far ? Now add the robot dog ? seriously a product maybe a handful can afford and will actually use and how many will die trying ? yeah.....there ya go !!!
how many Jetson One's have been delivered to their customers that ordered and paid deposits last year with the promise of deliveries in 2023.. which with less than 8 weeks left to go in the year, is fast looking like thats not gonna happen... but hey, they got a robot dog video to appease everyone and a nice new mansion in tuscany as their "headquaters" lol
Expensive stuff commercial
What’s the stock ticker?
Is Rosie next?
# a phenomenal set. well done. 🕶️
I wanna see it FLY jetson one
don't we all... but they won't... cos they are scared they will have a power loss or structural failure at a height greater than they can survive the fall from and lesser than is required for their "pilot" to recognise their situation, deploy the ballistic chute and get a good swing of the canopy before hitting the ground in free fall...
Awesome agility and design. What are the specs and pricing?
Why?
Can the jetson fly 3 minutes?
Spot?
The dog is confused
Instead of designing it to where the bot can be deployed to areas that need help with disaster relief or law enforcement it’s just kinda.. there? Seriously does it exist for anything other than inspection any person could do? Cmon start thinking towards the future.
So what is the point ???
well, the AI dog could fly it for you. Just make a few minor cockpit adjustments.
Does it attach to the Jetson or???
Ребят, мне не нужен стилизованная робот- собака. Мне нужна летающая вундервафля конвейерной сборки…
Wake me when J1 costs less than a regular airplane and lasts even a 1/4 of the flight time.
No way, you didn't 😮😮
Does it do anything?
Yeah you can call it a companion when it's riding in the Jetson one......
Ummm whole vid waiting to see where dog bot fits on flyer ... But nooo. Why else have it prance around the flyer? Why else say it's the companion to the flyer if the dog bot can't be stowed in flight so you can have it where you go...?! Fail
I for one am so relieved i didnt press the button for preorder. Between the "tuscany r&d facility mansion" and now this....this seems to be blatant mismanagement of seed capital. Good grief. Where are all the orders that were supposed to be delievered last year jetson? Its 2024...
Stars on mars??
tesla logo ?
just build the flying car don't worry about the stupid robot dog that brings nothing to what we want to see from your company.
You can buy one right now but, something tells me you're not trying to buy one. Besides the dog is just a fun thing to do, lighten up.
@thirtythreeeyes8624 you can't really buy one though.
@@TheBagOfHolding Have you tried? I know they were shipping out a dozen or so of them in 2022 to early adopters and sold out the 2023 batch of around 200 but, I don't know if those shipped.
@@thirtythreeeyes8624 they can't even fly for 2 full minutes with a person on it.
YOU'RE FT IN THE HEAD ! DOES THE ROBOT NEEDS TO MOVE LIKE THIS ?
Company makes an inane video featuring the owner’s new robot toy so it can qualify as a tax write-off.
Cool, why?
Is it house trained😢
Price $90,000 for 2023 all sold out
yet not a single one of the 2023 deliveries have been made yet... and its nearly december... but they got a robot dog, so thats cool and all ... right?
Me thinks astro is the payload not the human and this project now looks like it is for the military industrial complex.
Cool, but.. why?
Thats excatly what I said when the first iphone was released..... See how that went 🤨
@@--Snowy-- 🙄
The Jetsons robot made breakfast. This thing walks like a dog for less than 120 minutes before battery dies and needs to be charged for 4 hours. Don't impune The Jetsons 😂
😂 #EscobarPhoneVibe #ReSkin
It be cool if astro had prop blades that swing out and could follow you around while you fly Jetson maybe hold some cargo also
First like and comment
Consider this my deposit
Truly outdoing yourselves. Your firm is one of the most promising I've ever seen. Cheers to yet another innovation complete 🤝🏽
Surely you're not serious? They have produced one or two pre-production quadcopters to date, thrown a bunch of their investor money at a nice little pad in Tuscany, Italy and filmed themselves flying around at not much more than tree top height in a few otherwise completely uninformative videos, failed to so far meet the expected delivery dates for the orders placed last year and redecorated an off the shelf robot, which they are suggesting could be used to take the ultimate responsibility for ones own safety in a basic pre-flight check of a machine that could very easily kill them and/or some unlucky bystanders if they are really that stupid as to throw a bunch more money at Jetson for a gimmicky robot dog that looks straight from a nightmare to show off to their friends how quickly they can demonstrate the Jetson One's lack of ability to autorotate in the event of a complete loss of control or power or both from a height lesser than required for their arrogant "dog pre flighted my aircraft" owner at the controls to recognise and react and get a successful deployment and opening of the ballistic chute, but greater than survivable to fall to the ground from.... they havent innovated diddly squat - they have just taken a bunch of off the shelf parts, thrown it all together in an aluminium frame with a bit of carbon fiber to make it look pretty (with exception to the motor arms, the carbon fiber fairings and seat have no structural importance and are comparable in weight to plain old fiberglass) and taken a bunch of orders with deposits for an aircraft they are too scared to actually supply, because they know that they are death traps even in the most experienced hands, let alone in the hands of someone who has more money than sense and zero appreciation for why 90% of learning to fly any aircraft should in fact more actuately be described as learning how to avoid problematic situations and how to manage them for a safe outcome when they ivetably do occur.
Come on, thats just a BD dog...... WQith that cash and open source software you should produce your own better dog for 10K!!! If you cant i will do it for you. Just cover the cost of the dog and let me have a drive in a dream car and im good.... o and flight from SG (Singapore please lol) #IfoundedTheFirstMetaverse #ChaseReality #ChaseRealityMetaverse
This is a joke, right?
Not gonna lie....that's creepy.
So you bought a pet robot, and use this commercials tax purposes.
WHY???????????????
Shows they are not a serious company it’s an investment scam.
That is some marketing BS if I have ever seen one. Inspecting the prop mounts? You can literally do that WHILE getting into the damn quad and when sat in it by simply turning your head. Why do you need a wildly expensive robot that is capable of a huge variety of tasks other than taking walkaround video of your flying luxury rollcage? Come on, I really liked the idea of making flying a manned quad accessible. Not a fan of the hyper-elite route you have chosen to go. Bye.
Eh, and? What on earth is that supposed to be, a robot dog companion? How utterly pointless!
it can be quite boring waiting for battery performance to improve enough to make the jetson practical.
@@hersheykiss9500 If you look at the jetson and think it's going to be practical you don't get it. It's a fun toy kind of like the jetpacks you can buy, if you want practical get a helicopter.
How about you just focus on getting the Jetson One's you have supposedly sold to customers that were supposed to have been delivered and operational as per their publicly advertised specificifications like you have been promising for years now, rather than wasting time and focus on a stupid side project that realistically is of zero practical need to anyone. Failing that, why don't you just post a few video's of you and your customers flying around in your jetsons at 100-200 ft of altitude? Because, you know... everyone is starting to get a little suss on why all your video's to date are being flown just a few meters off the ground - unless you're a few meters directly overhead a small tree... why is that?
Another boston Dynamics clone... soooo impressive -_-
that where investor funds are going? supercars?
I thought Google bought General Dynamics? Which is quite scary...
