I’ve been following the Zenith line of kit planes for decades and at 62 years old, I still hope to someday build a 701. Thanks for the encouragement.

I noticed a while back that there was a change to things. I hope life hasn't been too tough Matty. Happy landings.

I liked your ground effect takeoff. Acceleration level in low ground effect is the default takeoff I taught Ag students, but it works for any airplane especially when heavy and or at high DA. I also like your proper and effective rudder work to keep the wing level in gusty air. No, we can't see your feet in the video, but we can see your hand locked to center the stick and prevent aileron adverse yaw. We can see that the nose is straight not allowing bank (good rudder usage). That skill is very useful on short final where we want no turn and thus no aileron. Walk the rudders to nail the centerline between our legs. I was up close and personal with the towers flying pipeline at 200' AGL with waiver. Nice video, thanks.

Nice run, Matt! Glad to see that white stuff disappearing for y'all up there. Snow is a four letter word! I remember going with a flight instructor once many years ago. I looked out the window and commented that the people down there looked like ants! He said , " They ARE ants! We haven't left the ground yet!!". OK, I'm reaching here!!!🤣😂😎👍👍👍

Always nice to see your videos. Down here at this time of the year the turbulence won't be over until passing the top of what I call the craposphere which happens to be between 15-17k ft. Temps are around 35C with dew points at -06C so it's very dry air (Field elev 5k ft MSL)

Your landings look at least as good as mine! The 701 is tough to land well in spite of what the folks from zenith say. The takeoffs are worth it though. They also handle the wind a lot better than one would think for their weight.

What kind of landing is that?! 😜 Hey, I was wondering what gadgets you have on your panel, besides the all important horn. Looking to upgrade a few items on the Flightstar.

What was the wind speed? Flew the other day and crazy turbulence! Had a nice 15 knot 90 degree crosswind landing…..yikes
